Good morning pearl queens.... Time to start a new thread I see. The coffee pot is on with a new blend from SB. Chocolate Pearl blend... Smells great. I will be around with the pot in a few minutes... Anyone for one of Crusty's freshly baked cinnamon rolls?

Love looking at these! ezzy may I ask what quality makes a "reverse" cherry? That's a new term for me!

Smarty Ezzy's term "reverse cherry" is really not a standard pearl term. There are two types of cherry pearls one is a green body with a cherry halo that floats around the edge and the other is a cherry body with a green halo that floats around the pearl. Ezzy collects the cherry body with green overtone usually. Her new pendant is the reverse for her. I collect the opposite of Ezzy green body cherry haze. Did I confuse you?

THANK YOU!! No, I must apologize for my ignorance! I had never heard of a reverse cherry before, but the photos explain it perfectly! Wow, those are some fierce pearls and I appreciate you sharing the pictures.

On my pearl pendant above the pink haze around the edge floats as you turn the pearl. I also have matching earrings {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Smarty the only dumb question is the one that is not asked. So feel free to ask away. The more questions the better because if you are wondering there are lots of others that are as well {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Wilma, I've never seen a strand of cherry Tahitians like your pearl. Either they are more rare than my cherries are or no one is collecting them out of harvests to make strands with. I really like these pretty things. Perhaps you could inquire more about this when you go to PP next time?

Smarty ... no dumb questions :) I saw some of these lovely pearls in person, and am still confused about cherry and green ... the only thing NOT confusing is just how gorgeous they all are! Thanks for another viewing, Newberry and Esmeraldagooch !

Our friend Ennui wanted me to remind everyone:

Reminder PQ's, Friday, September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day!
[Capt. Blood is dictating the agreement for the sailors who are assembled on the deck]
Dr. Peter Blood: "We, the undersigned, are men without a country. Outlaws in our own land and homeless outcasts in any other. Desperate men, we go to seek a desperate fortune. Therefore, we do, here and now, band ourselves into a brotherhood of bucaneers... to practice the trade of piracy on the high seas. We, the hunted, will now hunt! Therefore, to that end, we enter into the following Articles of Agreement: First: We pledge ourselves to be bound together as brothers in a life and death friendship, sharing alike in fortune and in trouble. Second Article: All monies and valuables which may come into our possession shall be lumped together into a common fund... and from this fund shall first be taken the money to fit, rig, and provision the ship. After that, the recompense each shall receive who is wounded is follows: for the loss of a right arm: 600 pieces of eight; left arm: 500; for the loss of a right leg: 500; left leg: 400..."

Sailor: "A fella can get rich if he's lucky".

From the TLaP folks:

The good folk at Pirate's Grog Rum – and we know they're good folk because they make rum – are willing to give away a little of that golden nectar, if ye're up to it!

Pirate's Grog Rum is celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day with a contest, and it's not to late to get in the fun. Very simply, just get someone to video record you performing the tongue twister below and upload that video to Facebook, using the hashtags #PiratesGrog #ITLAPD.

Love the Pirate reminder; waving hello to Ennui! Loving the new posts from Hong Kong, courtesy of Kevin Canning :) Anyone want to see my new Tahitian strands? I don't really know what colors these are called LOL ... just pretty? I like that I can wear them nested, clipped together as a rope etc. ... the clasps are great.

LOL Esmeraldagooch !!! Perhaps I can show grandson the Pirate squirrel (?) photo above, and challenge him to a pearl pirate party :) Hisano did a perfect job of figuring out the length of each necklace to nest perfectly, and I was worried ... needlessly so. Thanks, ladies.
