Good morning pearl queens.... Time to start a new thread I see. The coffee pot is on with a new blend from SB. Chocolate Pearl blend... Smells great. I will be around with the pot in a few minutes... Anyone for one of Crusty's freshly baked cinnamon rolls?

I can't wait to see your penguin pearls in person. They are so rare.

Thanks Esmeraldagooch ... I do think Walter would stick around next year ... when he heard some of the husbands did stay, and helped with trash etc. ... and he loved the food LOL, not to mention chatting with Douglas etc. We'll see when and where ...

Your Vietnamese and akoya ropes sound fantastic! I wore my 3 yesterday ... blue V rounds, blue V baby baroques, multi color V small rounds, with a blue flowered sweater. Got more compliments and questions on those than any others. Mine are each approx. 18", and each has a 3" extender chain, but I did find myself wishing I could somehow connect them all in a rope ... or get a rope ... :)

The Penguins are so special. They are in some ways very subtle, yet very rich ... I think that's what makes them look great with nearly outfit. And I love the way Sarah set them with the little diamond cut white and yellow bead spacers ... magical. She does lovely work!

I bought 2 strands of each so they are both the same length. Rope double strand or twisted together as a torsade.

Esemeraldagooch, buying 2 strands of each was a VERY smart thing to do. If they're ever offered again ... :)

Wilma and I both bought two of the V akoyas. I bought two different m.m. sizes of the baby blue baroque akoyas. They work well mixed.

From the Pearl Paradise blog page... See them in the Tahitian Round page on the PP website. They have the very illusive Blue Tahitians too.

So, Esmeraldagooch and friends, how on Earth does one select a strand when all are so extraordinary?

Ahoy Pearl Queens!

Did anyone happen to catch the story this week when a woman found a rare purple pearl in her clam dinner! They say only one in 5,000 clams are reported to produce a pearl (who keeps track of this stuff!?) and then find a purple one! Some people have all the luck, eh?

I know it's early but I don't get over this way often - Merry Christmas PQ's! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Jersey it is hard, very hard but in this instance any of the blues would be in my cart and on the way home to me if only I could. It wouldn't matter which one. Blue body pearls are very rare more so than chocolate pearls. We are talking non color enhanced of course. All of the pearls above a natural color cultured pearls. If it was a gift I wouldn't turn any of them down.

I have also spent a few minutes on the phone with Ezzy reminding her she already has 2 magnificent cherry strands and she really, really didn't NEED another but want is a completely different matter {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

So true, Newberry :) I found myself WANTING, of all unexpected things, one of those Cherry strands, one of the ones with pops of bright blues and greens mixed in ... sigh. But I both need and WANT to buy my daughter and family a new macbook for Christmas so ... not like I don't have any WANT pearls already :))) I do wish I'd pushed the button on one of the shorter "harvest" strands during the Cyber sale ... those were so pretty and so reasonable in price ... but I just wasn't fast enough LOL.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up that this strand is listed as-is at a pretty good price. I've had good luck in the past with purchasing as-is items, and it can always be returned if it isn't what you expect.
