IMPERIAL GOLD IS GONE!!!!!!

Started 1272738707.26 in Jewelry Talk | Last reply 1273791351.523 by Daysdee

What I feared the most has happened!  The writing was on the wall, IG kept getting less air time (because of the price of gold), but you could still order from the website.  I kept checking back periodically because their pieces kept going on "clearance".  Luckily I snagged a mirawheat ring (I had always wanted one) before they were POOFED!

Well ladies, I guess all we're left with now is high priced "stuff" from China.  It seems like anybody with any "celebrity" (I use the term loosely) is hawking some kind of jewelry (from China).  Any minute will see Kate Gosslein come out with a line.

GONE is the really GOOD stuff, real gold.  This line was expensive, but worth every penny and their lifetime warranty was the best!!!  I will miss - IMPERIAL GOLD!

Not my favorite, but it's sad to see a long-time vendor leave.  Blame it on the high price of gold.

 I agree... I will treasure the three bracelets I have.

Remember that other line they use to have.  It was called Beverly Hills Gold.  They use to have the most beautiful rose gold.  I even googled them but nothing.  {#emotions_dlg.sad}

It is sad although I am not surprised as they hardly had a IG show on.  I do have a few pieces and love them.  I will have to check on ebay.

I had forgotten about Beverly Hills gold...they had some nice pieces.  I was never a huge fan of IP but like another poster said, it's sad to see a long-time vendor leave.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

The company is called I.G. Gold, based in Texas.  At one time, they had a website you could order from (way more styles and options than what were shown on QVC).  If you do some research on the web, you'll probably come up with a link on where you can still purchase it.  I always remember some really lovely pieces at a shop in the Pittsburgh airport, of all places!

Their manufacturing had moved to Mexico a few years ago and that is when I stopped buying.

Are they totally out of business?  What happens to our lifetime warrantys?  Well, I really don't want an answer to that!

I actually had to have them replace a bracelet.  It kept stretching and stretching.  It ended up too big with huge gaps between the links.  It did finally break.  They replaced it with a brand new one.

I bought a beautiful I.G. bracelet from the Q....it had an unusual clasp on it...it was very very expensive...for the time.....i wore it to work..it fell off and i lost it...I called the company direct....and their answer was....there was nothing they can do about it...it was now my loss...no apology...nothing....and the person was quite snippy...I had just bought it...

I called the Q....and they gave me back my money.....I never bought another I.G. item, again...I would never spend my money on a company who has such a bad c..s...

Circles, I don't think they were out of line.  You were very lucky QVC refunded you.  IG didn't you from Adam.  How do they know you were an honest person.  Anyone could say they lost it to get a free bracelet.  I can see why they couldn't replace it.

I know how you feel though and sympathize with you.  I bought a brand new gold bracelet at Penneys one time.  I lost it (wearing it) before I got home.  I was so upset.  It was beautiful.  I didn't even call Penneys because I didn't think there was a chance they would replace it.

My very first purchase on the Q was an IG bracelet about 16 years ago.

What's the matter with gold jewelry from Italy?  Not all of it is made in China.  Sheesh

I only recently found IG @ QVC and bought several pieces on clearance/love them all.  I specifically wanted sold gold and not plated or bonded, etc.  Appreciated the quality and classic designs of IG.  Ended up purchasing a matching bracelet on Ebay and sadly I will have to continue visiting them (and be lucky) to find any additional pieces I want. If anyone has other ideas/leads please post them here.  Thanks.

Wasn't their Rep named Linda?  I used to watch the IG shows all the time.

I wasn't really crazy about Imperial Gold for a long time but I just had to see the right piece.  I have one bracelet, it's not one of their big ones but when I saw it I knew it was the one.  I really like it because it's flat & I can wear it on my right wrist & not have any trouble writing.  Hopefully the prices will go back down & they'll be back.

 I really liked IG.  I lost one of my nice earrings last year and was going to try to contact them to get a replacement.  I do think it probably would have cost more than I paid for the pair.  (now that gold is so costly)  Guess I'm stuck with one earring.

 Yes, Linda Oem (not sure of spelling).  I also miss Beverly Hills gold.  I loved the shows with Judy Crowell.
