Skull jewelry, really?

I am horrified by the use of skull motifs in jewelry sold on QVC. Don't people know that Hitler's SS men used the skull as their insignia? It was the insignia of the concentration camp officers and other military present in the camps.

Victims of the Hitler's SS saw this insignia when they were being worked to death, starved and used as guinea pigs for "medical" experiments.

I don't understand why anyone with this knowledge would purchase skull head jewelry. The holocaust is not ancient history, there are survivors of the concentration camps still alive today. I can imagine their disgust if they saw the insignia they saw daily in the camps being worn by "stylish" women today.
