Has anyone ever purchased an "as is" item on the Q

Just wondering what you purchased and what condition you received it in. Was looking at some jewelry items and some purses. I never have purchased an "as is" item before so any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

YES...and I have never had a problem with receiving something broken or damaged...I usually look at the jewelry more than anything else. In fact I like the selection more than the new Bronzo or Oro Nuevo that is now being presented.

If one is a regular reader of these boards, it would seem "as is" items are in better condition than regular priced items. Its like they take the time with "as is" packaging and regular items that have been returned by customers might not get complete repackaging before being sent out again.

I have purchased jewelry a few times and a purse once - good luck with all of them. You can return as is items on the Q.

I purchased the really large Lori Grenier makeup box a few years ago. It looked brand new to me, so I don't know why it was in the "as is" pile. But, as stated, you can return it if it's not to your liking, so there's no risk.

I used to buy quite a lot of "as is" gold, and got some nice things. Now I don't buy gold at all, but I recently got a couple Carolyn Pollack pieces that were fine.

I did... twice, I believe. Once was "As Is" LOGO by Lori Goldstein 3/4 Sleeve Knit with Ruched Pocket." Another time was "As Is" Susan Graver Stretch Cotton Crop Length Knit Leggings. Both got to me in fantastic condition.

5 or 6 pieces of jewelry and each one was pristine.

In fact, since it tends to be older inventory, the pieces came beautifully packaged in velvet hinged boxes.

Really? I've never gotten a velvet hinged box ... I just get the recycled paper boxes.

I have purchased several "as is" jewelry items and have never had a problem. My FAV "as is" purchase was an Eterna Gold turquoise ring that I never saw on line or on air - that I got for a steal !!

When I think of all the old velvet boxes I donated years ago, I get ill. I saved a couple of Eterna Gold and Carolyn Pollack turquoise boxes and that's it.

I have had mostly bad luck. Most of the things had small imperfections. I tried jewelry and handbags. I won't try again.

This too shall pass.

I would say I've purchased about a dozen. They were all perfect in condition.

I have purchased a few "as-is" home and candle items in the past.

No problems at all.

I've purchased several jewelry items and never had a problem. I also purchased 2 pair of shoes, one of which was perfect, but the other had a deep scratch across the toe so that pair was returned. Could have been why it came back in the first place. I've been quite happy with the items, and love the savings!

Yes and I have never had a problem. I have an "as is" Eterna necklace on it's way to me right now!

I've had a couple clothing items. They were packed in clear bags and had no tags. No issues.

I have only purchased jewelry "as is" and have had no problems, and often been surprised that the items are in perfect condition. I have made a couple of great scores in price, also. I don't do it very often, but a piece comes along once in a while that I will grab and have always been happy about it. With clothing items and handbags, I would think it would be a little riskier, but you don't know unless you try.

Yes, I have purchased several "as is" jewelry pieces over the years and I've had very good luck like thus far and have not had to return.

Many years ago I ordered an "as is" artificial Christmas tree and it tilted to the side. I just stuck a couple books under that side of the stand and it was fine. With a tree skirt over the stand no one was the wiser. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

My experience is very similar.^^

I've been shopping with QVC for over 20 years now - 15-18 of them online. I have found that the very best advice are the product reviews by buyers like ourselves. I don't remember when reviews started being posted online (2006-7?) but every one has been spot on.

I've wanted to purchase an item so much and wanted to believe in it that I've dismissed bad reviews. Big mistake. An "as is" ankle bracelet that broke immediately for one customer won't happen to me, right? Wrong. It broke on the first day (night actually - I woke up and it was broken and in the sheets somewhere).

I heed the reviews. Of course, I love when I'm buying something and the reviews are good. QVC shoppers know best. Their reviews are the best indicators.

Meg - still shopping

I've purchased 3 pair of D & C crop pants. All 3 packaged beautifully and in perfect condition. Since I wash new garments before I wear them, I didn't have a problem at all.

I've also purchased two Valerie Parr Hill Angels. Can't imagine why anyone would have returned them. They were beautiful and perfect.

I've not had a problem with any "as is" products to date.

Some of those "as is" items could be TV samples

My last few purchases have been "As Is" jewelry - Carolyn Pollack, Elizabeth Rand, RLM studio. Every piece was nicely packaged and in pristine condition. I always reference it back to the original Item number and read the reviews. I have not yet been disappointed and will continue to purchase As Is items as I see something that is worth the price. For me, right now, this is the best way to be able to purchase quality items at a reasonable price.

It is what is is.

Yes I did. A pants and there was pet hair allover the pants. I guess it must have been a return from somebody with a pet. QVC returns department should have cleaned it not sending it dirty to me. I did return the pants .Who knows what else is in it. No more AS IS products for me.{#emotions_dlg.scared}
