Ostroblue Topaz

Started 1309042834.68 in Jewelry Talk | Last reply 1309284307.873 by kitty987

I never thought a crazy loud blue ring would shout out to me, and as I walk away, it shouts again and again like one of those ancient mythological sirens, but this ring, which is so outside of my usual style, sucked me in.

I'll wait to see it in person, whether it looks like something out of a gumball machine or like some incredible blue stone.

Has anyone ever seen this stone in person - any of you gem people? Ezzy? (esmeraldagooch).

No, Endoqueen I haven't . I ususally only buy London blue, and have enough of that for a lifetime.

I think it is gorgeous! If only I could afford it. If you buy it post a review!

The item # is J260015

I am TOTALLY hooked. I checked out the gem manufacturers website and it is SO cool!

Ostroblue website.

I ordered it and will see how it looks on my hand. I don't want it to look obscenely big or fake/cheap - but from the pictures it looks fabulous!

I'm also getting hooked on this ring. I ordered it, but when I did it wasn't on easy pay. Right now I cancelled the order. I have to see this presented. My only concern is the size of the stone. I'm hoping it's not huge, but I think it will be. Just not sure. I'm so curious to see this one presented. Maybe during Jane's rock stars it will be. I hope so. I love the emerald cut and I love the deep blue color of this stone.

I'd say 16 carats is pretty huge. I got the 6ct "Princess Di" one in topaz, and that's plenty huge enough for me.

That ostroblue color is gorgeous though, so I can totally understand wanting to see how it looks on your own hand.

Barbados, it's on 3 easy pays. It is supposed to be presented during Jane's 9:00 EST show tonight. I have some friends coming over any minute, and I doubt they want to sit around and watch a gem show (!) so I'll have to see it on video.

It will be more important when I get it and try it on anyway. I must say, I am really excited about it! I don't have ANYTHING like it.

Hi Endoqueen: I cancelled my order but I'm standing by waiting for Jane's show. I also cancelled the citrine ring I purchased earlier. If I get this on easy pay I didn't want an extra hundred dollars to pay for. So the london blue ring is enough. I'll probably end up getting this one because of the cut of the stone. Emerald cut is my favoriate. This blue is just calling my name. I'll let you know later if I ordered this or not. If I don't I get the citrine ring back, lol.

Have fun with your friends and enjoy the evening.

I really want this one also. I wonder how different the blue is, got to at least see it don't ya think? I like this one in sterling with a bigger stone. I recently had a friend say she had thought petite girls could not wear big rings until she saw me do it. I told her I had heard that but never paid any attention! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Bigger is Better Baby

I just cancelled my order for that blue ring because I just saw it on Jane's hand and it's way too big of a stone. I love bold rings, but that's a bit too much. I wouldn't wear it that often and I surely wouldn't wear it to work, so spending almost 300 for that is a waste.

I ended up reordering the citrine ring I ordered early in the morning. I'm done for jewelry gem day.

Whoever gets that blue ring wear it well. It's georgous, but just too big of a stone to wear all the time.

I think the color is amazing, but a 16 carat stone is too big personally for my taste and my hand (darn). I hope if you get it that is everything you want. Post a review, I'd love to know what the verdict is after people get it.

I'm still getting it, I will review when it comes. So far nothing has ever been too big for me and that goes for work also.

Wow! That color looks vibrant!

Did Jane just say they are not reordering? Does that mean the ring or no mor Ostroblue pieces at all?

Oh well, call me fickle. I can't get past that color of the stone and when Jane said about the weight of the ring and that it's almost a silk fit that did me in. I re-ordered it. Hopefully, it won't look so big on the finger.

Same here. I couldn't help myself. The color is mesmerizing, and the silver design reminds me of Ann King rings. I have to at least get this one home to try it out.

LOL, well, I caved in to temptation, too. It is so darn beautiful. I just cancelled some of the things I ordered earlier today so I can buy this ring. I am so weak!

Well, I caved too! I am anxious to compare the color of this stone to the other blue Topaz I have. I have a number of them in a variety, so it should be interesting. It is certainly a huge stone, but I have large hands, so no problem for me. I love large rings and this one fits the bill and then some! Never met a huge emerald cut I didn't like! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

lol I just cancelled a citrine ring for the second time tonight because I ordered that ring too. So now I'm down to just two rings for gem day. I won't be ordering anymore rings or anything else for a while. I'm done!!! lol

Hi there Belle_Femme: You know, I think the silver sold me more on that ring then the stone itself. When Jane turned the ring upside down and I saw all that shiny smooth substantial silver, I knew this was a well made ring. I would have kicked myself if I didn't get it. I also think it reminds me of Ann King's settings too. The more I look at that ring, the more I can't wait to get it.

Please post your review when you receive it. Wear yours in the best of health and enjoy it.

I put several things in my cart and was contemplating the 24 ct Rose de France butterfly ring when the Ostro 16 ct ring came on. I have a soft spot for blue topaz, so I was on "automatic" when I clicked that ring into my cart. I promptly cancelled all other orders in my cart and stuck with the Ostro. I know it's big, but it's so gorgeous!!! I was pleased it was on 3 easy pays, so that was my final decision....I caved.

Why is gas so expensive, and why is grocery shopping so expensive?

I was pleased it was on easy pay also. When I first ordered it that ring wasn't on easy pay. The easy pay sure helped alot. I'm glad it was 3 easy pays instead of 5. Hope they ship these rings out fast. I'm so anxious to see it in person. Enjoy yours.

Oh my word I really went overboard today. I couldn't resist the gorgeous color and setting of the Ostroblue Topaz ring. Also got the gemstone/pave ring in blush garnet and madeira citrine. Then to top everything off I ordered the Brazilian Opal ring....I love green. Not sure I'm keeping all but knowing me I will. I missed the gorgeous Aquamarine/diamond ring but am checking for cancellations on that.....I am soooo bad!

Hope all who ordered loves their rings!!
