Aster Yellow disease on cone flowers

Help! I think all my purple cone flowers have aster yellow. The flower heads aren't developing - they are green fluffy things and the ones that did develop have small twisted petals.

Do I need to dig up and destroy them all? Is there really no cure and is the soil contaminated?
