WFPB eaters, are you planning on having traditional holiday dinners?

I am. I tend to side with Dr McDougall on this subject in that... eat like you were a poor man in the 1800's. There wasn't meat everyday, but only for special holidays.

His words...

"

-Candy on Valentines and Halloween

-Eggs on Easter

-Cake for Birthday's

-Turkey for Thanksgiving

-Ham for Christmas

"

Nothing More Nothing Less.

NOT eating as though everyday is a holiday: Easter eggs for breakfast, Thanksgiving turkey for lunch, Halloween candy for snacks, Christmas ham for dinner, and birthday cake for dessert. EVERYDAY some people do this... Oh My.

Thanks, Go Pokes, for the McDougall shout out!! I'm going to eat all the sides...turkey & ham were never my thing...but no reason to unhinge & go crazy. What are you fixing?

BTW...are you on Chef AJ's mailing list for weekly calls? She had the Happy Herbivore on Thursday's call....very much a success story! And I believe she'll have Dr. Esselstyn in Janauary. Can. Not. Wait! I have such a crush on him!! Smiley Tongue

WFPB? I think that's short for ""Where's the frickin' peanut butter?!""

Turkey is a lean protein.

I would never consider it a BAD food...

It's an eating plan based on minimally refined foods, lots of fruits, vege, whole grains, beans, little meat. Whole Foods, Plant-Based. My sister follows this plan. When she visits, we eat this way.
