I've been gargling with hydrogen peroxide but late last night I found some Halls cough drops..and that really helped. I realized I need to stock up on lozenges, ginger root, etc, its that time of year! What works for you?

A teaspoon of RAW honey, every few hours. Also helps kill whatever germs are responsible for the sore throat!

I like ACV for gargling, and if you swallow it, no biggie.
Warm salt water is good too, but sometimes it makes me gag.

Gargle with apple cider vinegar, to which a little honey has been added. Can be used as often as you need. Don't be afraid to swallow - it tastes terrible but really helps.

Try gargling with warm salt water mixed with honey. Also drinking any warm liquid with honey will help. There is a tea called Throat Coat which helps me but it has licorice root so if you have blood pressure issues you should use it. While ginger is great for stimulating mucus, it can sometimes irritate a sore throat. Good old homemade chicken soup is also great. I find Ricola to be the most soothing lozenge.

I was always told a tablespoon of honey and Jack Daniels whiskey every 4 hours, if your not oppose to the alcohol, which I am.

Is your nose stuffy? If so, you're breathing thru your mouth causing more issues w/ the throat. How about focusing on reducing the swelling within the nasal passages? As well as gargling, etc.

Tea and honey.

I can't gargle with salt water or swallow honey - I just can't do it.
If I have a very bad sore throat, the only thing that helps me is putting Vicks on my throat and wrapping my throat with an old scarf or a towel.
I like Ricola throat lozenges the best.
