I was happy with my A1C of 5.4, but according to Dr. Bernstein, it should be 83, which is A1C 4.5. I don't know if I can do that! opinions?? I started out at A1C 12, in 12/2012!

I am tired of numbers. I started out just fine and the numbers changed... lower and lower. I do believe the drug companies are in on it.

I was at 5.8 in February, down from 7.3 when I was diagnosed with T2 last June, and my doctor was very happy. I'm aiming for below 5.7 and will be more than happy with that. My usual fasting these days is 70 - 90 and my daily goals are 120 or less 1 hour after meals, less than 100 at the 2 hour mark. Unless I splurge, I usually hit them. I take 500 mg of Metformin once a day (down from 2 a day) and other than that manage on diet and exercise.

Those are great numbers. Vigilance pays. Thanks for sharing. May I ask what you eat for breakfast? I usually have cage Greek yogurt with a few berries and cinnamon but it's over 6 carbs(9carbs) However it has 23g of protein. Thanks to you and others on these boards I found the Dr. Bernstein diet. I had bought Dr. Barnyard book too but what a mistake for me. Dr Bernstein is working nicely but always want to tweak things.

My current goal is to be under 6.0. Currently at 6.4. For me baby steps first then gradually increase my goals. Everyone has been so nice and inspiring and I do appreciate everything that you share. Thanks again.

Why not work toward a healthy normal? Even if you don't get to Dr. B's suggested goal, it might get you closer than you would otherwise get. And, who knows... You might just achieve that normal goal.
