stomach problem - need advice please

The past couple of weeks I have been having gas pains at night (sharp pain last night) I can't sleep because of it. I'm going to try and cut out dairy for a while and see if that helps. Does anyone have any other suggestions of what I might try - it is just awful. I will go to the Doctor this week. I really don't think he can do much for this. Any ideas would be appreciated.
