In the past several weeks, I've seen a couple old movies, 1940's -early to mid 1950's. In both movies, there was a scene where the Dr. told an associate that one of his patients was terminally ill. Both times, the associate asked the Dr., "are you going to tell him?". Again, in both cases, the Dr. said "no, what good would it do?".
Does anyone know if this was how things were handled back then?
