For Those Who Need a Place to Hang COATS!

I bought these hooks at World Market in a set of 6.

I used the "wasted" space in the hallway down my basement stairs and hung up all my fall/winter coats. (I use the coat closet for leather/suede items that I want to protect from cats and changes in temperature).

For not a lot of money, it's a great solution! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I love the colors! I could also see those World Market hooks holding picture frames hung by a ribbon. Thanks for sharing!

Yes- or keys!

I put a Velcro dot on the back of the tile too, so it's more secure in case my felonious feline decides to "attack" one of the coats.

When we first were house shopping down here I was a bit surprised that most homes did not have a coat closet by the front door. In fact no coat closet at all. I kept a lot of my winter things just in case we had to travel north in winter, or we experienced a really bad cold snap here. They hang ready in the back of my closet along with my high boots.

Not only did our Florida home not come with a coat closet - it also did not come with a linen closet. DH had to hang shelves in my walk in closet for our sheets and towels. I keep our winter coats in garment bags in the guest room closet and our lightweight jackets in our closets.

Those world market hooks are cute. They had a 10% off coupon in the paper today.

Cute hooks, Lola. I have paintings lining the wall going downstairs to my basement, so that's not really a spot I can use for hanging coats. I have a horizontal rack in my back hallway and a coat rack similar to this by the front door:

Of course, I have coats in the closet, too. Here in Michigan, we have lots of coats! Now I need someplace to stow all the wet shoes that come through my door all winter!

I had a home with a small entryway and no closet, and got a nifty coatrack that tucked in to the corner. I enjoyed arranging the garments/bags/scarves so they became part of the decor.

Love the idea of independent hooks in those otherwise useless spaces.
