What brightens whites without chlorine bleach and has no scent?

Is there a product for the wash that brightens whites and is gentle and unscented on the skin? My skin will not tolerate chlorine bleach or any scented products. My whites are looking dingy but I can't and don't want to just pitch them!

Thanks for all your help!

You can try spot treating whites with lemon juice and a paste of ground up aspirin. Baking soda might help too.

Oxyclean has worked for me for years now. I'm happy with it for many reasons. I also have dogs and a cat and it freshens their bedding and removes the doggie odor. It has never been harsh for my skin or has a smell. I use it with boiling water to remove stains in my carpet if one of the animals has an accident and it works really well then too.

Definitely Oxiclean - the "Versatile" stain remover powder. I've used it for over 6 years - I put a scoop in every wash load and soak briefly - it removes all stains and whitens just as well as bleach. It doesn't have much of a scent but they do make an unscented version. I also used the spray for unusual stains.

My husband has low blood platelets and is a "bleeder." When I first started using Oxi I tried it on some old t-shirts, sheets and pillowcases with old blood stains. It removed the stains - it's amazing stuff.

Boiling hot water and baking soda. That's how they use to clean hotel linens/sheets in the old days before detergents. Soap mixed with dirt and hot water would leave a waxy/scummy film but baking soda did not.
