Sheets that really fit and do not nap up

Started 1374154313.033 in For the Home Talk | Last reply 1374420118.45 by Soushi24

Is there a sheet out there anywhere that actually fist? I have full size beds and that in itself is a nightmare for sheets. I can only find dull colors and they are huge. One nights sleep and they are so wrinkled it is awful. The pillowcases that come with the sheets are queen not full.

I want a full size sheet that comes on colors, fits like the old fashion sheets used to fit and does not nap up when washed. Percale is the best but getting very hard to find.

When I put a sheet on my bed I want it to be tight enough to bounce a quarter.

Any suggestions?

Costco has some great sheets under their Kirkland name that are large enough to not ride up and come out from under the mattress. They have not pilled on me in the 7 months we have used them. They are not "bounce a quarter tight" though.

I have given up on Kohl's Big One sheets, the fitted sheet never stays tucked under the mattress. We have a very thick mattress.

I like SleepTite sheets. They have a smocked feature on the bottom and top edge of the fittted sheet. They fit thin and thick mattresses. I have used them on several mattress sizes.

The top sheets are extra large and stay tucked under. They are 100% cottton and soft and smooth, but not slippery. They do wrinkle a little in the dryer, but the wrinkles smooth out on the bed. I have washed mine many, many times in cool water and thay have not pilled.

I purchased mine from Brylane Home....with a coupon code. I signed up for sales and offers.

I just picked up Sealy's Best Fit 450 TC sheets at Ross. They fit our 18 inch mattress so well! OMG the seams have a stretchy spandex type material and stay put! Pretty soft too, the only thing, they were a little wrinkled after washing and drying. Otherwise great fit. I think they are for 20 inch tall mattresses!

I got some giant elastic bands from QVC that have clips on the ends that you put diagonally under the mattress and clip to the corners of the sheets. They help. I also like the knit sheets, which stay in place and are so soft to sleep on. They're sort of like an old, soft man's tee shirt.

I have no clue what "nap up" means but it seems that my sheets get all loose and it has nothing to do with the elastic or how they fit - it is that we all have different size mattresses now - unlike the long-past times when theywere all the same size. Sheets are made to fit an 18" mattress sometimes so there is just a lot of material IMO. I love springmaid but they went out of business, sadly. But they do the same thing because my mattress is not that deep...

Thank you for the suggestions! By nap up I mean that when they are washed a few times the sheets get little balls on them and they are not comfortable to sleep on.

I do not like the soft flannel I like the cool crisp. My mattress is 18" but the sheets I get from Belk are all to big. I buy the 600 TC Biltmore and love the feel but not the size and they don't nap up so tthat is a good thing.

I like LL Bean sheets, especially the flannel.

ShopNBC has many very nice sheets. Most of theirs are pretty tight on my bed. Hope you find what you need.

I love a tight fitting sheet also....I usually like a Cotton/Poly combo for Spring/Summer, but they are hard to find...and there are so many fabric variations, it does seem a challenge.

I'm also currently looking for some new sheets, so will keep an eye on your thread!

I don't know if you have a T.J.Maxx or Marshall's where you live-I have bought nice 100% cotton sheets in both stores.

I have an ummmmm sheet 'problem'. I wash my sheets and have my local drycleaners starch and iron them.

I have the same problem as you ladies. I like high count sheets but all but one set of sheets bunch up! I just don't know where I got them from. It was either QVC or HSN. I've since ordered sheets from both (I have a lot of sets of sheets) and none fit tight like I like and you ladies like EXCEPT for this one set of sheets.

They are white and they don't have the count on them but they are like the one's you have when you are in the hospital. They are very heavy but the bottom sheet fits tight. I love them. I just wish I knew where I got them because I can't find a record of them.

Anyway, thanks for your ideas ladies.

The sheets I really like are the old percale. They were cool and crisp and never bunched up. All of the 100% cotten or egyptian cotten are all hot and nap up when washed.

Biltmore house 600TC at Belk are close BUT they are too big. U bought a set at Shop NBC a few years ago that I loved but do not know what kind they were and they have since bit the dust.

Bed Bath has some that come individually as I had some high count bottom sheets that ripped so I had to find something to go with them. The pillow cases and top sheet are just fine.

One set was from Costco and the other a Bloomingdales brand.

I just bought a set of king size & sheets at Bed Bath & Beyond. Cotton, white, 400 thread ct. $49.00 & w/20% coupon, came to $37.00. Sheets fit perfectly on our 18" mattress. Bottom sheet is elasticized all around. Cool & so comfy. I've washed them & they weren't all wrinkly when I took them out of the dryer. I'm very happy w/them. Btw...they are Wamsutta brand.

I have two sets of Martha Stewart sheets that I picked up at Walmart. I really like them. Cool and crisp and don't bunch up in the middle of the bed. I really don't care for the soft sateen sheets. I found that those bunch up too much and are uncomfortable.

I love my Kirkland sheets, but they are too deep for my Select Comfort. They would be great for those thick mattresses.

I ordered percale sheets online from Kohl's. We like them and especially like the prices.

Love my sheets from Wal-Mart. Recommeded by a friend, then I recommended them to a neighbor. Neighbor stopped by this week to thank me, loves the sheets too.

They come in a pkg with top and bottom sheets and the pillow cases. There is a faint ribbon design that is the same color as the sheets. They do not pill and they do fit.
