SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Good morning, shopping friends! Today will be a great day; it is blessed with rare sunshine and an unreal high of 70 for this time of the year.

I see that the SG V-neck tops that were on clearance have shipped. I have these in a larger size and they work so well; the savings was very acceptable and I was in need of something like this in a smaller size. I also see that the Cottage Farms TSV is in the process of shipping. This was the ground cover that supposedly could be planted easily. In my opinion, this is early for something like that to be prepared for shipping, as we usually don't plant until mid-May in recent cooler than normal Springs.

I have the electrophysiologist appointment in the capital city at 9am on Thursday morning. It is a two-hour drive with 32 miles of that drive over nasty crooked roads in the dark. I'm debating staying overnight there to get a good nght's sleep and avoid getting up at 5am to get ready and to make the trip. At the same time, I hate spending that money.

The Career Center called me to sub tomorrow, but then two minutes later called again and said it had to be rescheduled. The individual had not looked at the updated info and had the wrong date.

I'm watching the QF show for a break. I did some around the house chores earlier this morning. There is nothing exciting on the agenda except wait for phone calls from a medical specialty. I really want that date for the test on my calendar so I can make plans.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Good morning Ladies, Thanks for starting Jean....Wow...the 70's I am jelous....I though the 48 we are supposed to hit today was wonderful! It is nice and sunny out and hopefully more of the snow will go...we had a lot of rain on Sat. What was the item number on those tops Jean...I know several ladies here don't like the v necks but I do. I think I would stay over the night before my procedure so wouldn't have to worry about weather next morning. I don't plant anything till after Memorial Day to make sure the danger of frost is over no matter what the garden places say.

Hope you had a nice dinner out for your Dh birthday LindaL. Mexican sounded good to me.

Kathleen The boots you tossed sure had a long life and time for a new pair!

Twinnt have a great trip...can't remember if you go tomorrow or Wednesday.

Not much going on here doing some laundry and house ."stuff". Have a nice day everyone....Marijane

Hi Jean - I was almost sorry that I mentioned those tempting Susan Graver tops, lol. I do hope you like them. Because I live out in California, shipping takes a l-o-n-g time. You might get yours before I do. Let me know how you like them! Marijane - the item number is A203885 and is still available in quite a few colors and sizes. Jean, I hope that you figure out the best way to get to your appointment, it doesn't sound like fun.

Friday night I was nervous about driving to the airport, but everything went smoothly. My daughter is now home for the week on spring break from vet school. I love having her home. Today she is working/volunteering at the vet clinic. One of our friends has a dog that needed a blind eye removed, and our friend wanted my daughter Mary to be there.

Today while my daughter is at work, I need to get caught up on routine chores and do some gardening. It's looking a little messy and weedy around here!

Charlene--Don't feel sorry about mentioning A203885. A reduced price is always good especially when smaller sizes are being required. I did get two SG tops in the smaller size and they worked, so hopefully these did also. Enjoy having your daughter at home.

Marijane--The appointment on Thursday is not for a procedure but a consultation with the EP based upon my cardiologist's referral. If the appointment had been an hour later, I wouldn't have been debating staying over. I have always liked V-necks provided they aren't plunging V-necks that some favor. This is A203885:

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Hello. Thank you OP for reminding me to shop wisely, because I don't. I was out of town and saw a favorite D & C top back in stock. I ordered two more. When I got home, I discovered that I already had one of the two colors that I had ordered two days before. Of course that is the color that had already shipped, as I found out when I called customer service. Frankly, I need a total break from QVC. I guess I figure I am missing out on something when I don't see what is offered. I am not glued to the TV or internet, but I definitely spend time looking when I don't need a darn thing.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

Puppy Lips--Welcome! One of the things that you can do when debating a purchase is to order it but when checking out put it on ""check status."" This gives you two weeks to debate if the purchase is a good one. I know looking can lead to buying; visual impact does wonders for creating impulse buying. The question ""Do I really need this?"" is a good one to ask.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Hello All,

Jean: good advice about needs vs. wants. Yesterday, I mentioned we bought new towels for the master bathroom. You should see what the old towels were started to look like. Imagine, falling apart. Anyway, it makes getting these towels such a treat. Never thought I would be excited over towels.

Rainy here today. Meal cooking in the crockpot. I think today will be a lazy day. We are going to grill burgers tomorrow and have a little lunch thing with some neighbors for St Patty's day. It should be fun.

Hope all of you have a good day. Jean, positive thoughts your way as you progress through your appointment. We will be heading out of town next week for a specialist appt. It is over a three hour drive. So I understand the thought process of hotels vs. turn around trips. Between the gasoline, potential hotel cost and then a meal or two out on top of that..it can add up. Sometimes it is necessary but still.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Hello friends! I got up and went to boot camp and feel fantastic. It was a good workout but I modified - don't know if I mentioned last Monday was so awful I could barely walk for 3 days. Quite miserable and felt pretty stupid too.

Gayle I tried white towels and washclothes and couldn't get them clean. The same thing happened with my white turbie twist (we girls use them every day) and I had to get rid of them.

What is in the corck pot? I brought a bunch of food home from "country home". Our food storage space is so limited here.

Welcome Puppy lips! I do the same thing, and then return because I don't need 2 of the same thing.

Will have to come back later - DH is meeting me for lunch! Wooohooooo!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Gayle--Towels? I think I have a supply for the lifetime! I ran across a big sale at an outlet on the way to Florida and we all stocked up. That was last year and those towels have yet to be touched. The ones I have are still usable, so these are in waiting for whatever need arises. The buy was so good that we couldn't turn it down. There were three of us and we loaded up and stuffed the trunk. Best wishes for your out of town appointment. You are so correct; all those expenses do add up when doing an overnight stay for an appointment.

Kathleen--I'm with you on white towels but only because I like a little color lift in my life. Enjoy your lunch out with DH. Good job with the exercise!

Today is so nice; it is calling me to get out and make a run to the city as I didn't have time to do some things on Saturday with the threat of flooding. On the other hand, it represents time on the road...3 hours round trip plus time in WalMart. Had I done it at 9am, it would have been more easily done and I could have returned in time to have a good afternoon. On the other hand, I could get a free DQ there for the DQ anniversary. This is another thing we do not have here.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (MONDAY, 3/16)

Hi girls!

It's a beautiful day out; it's supposed to be near 80° later today! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} I'm thinking I can probably shut off the furnace in a week or so; I'm tempted to do it now, but you know what will happen then - it'll get cold again! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I'm taking a long ride out to my bank today, and will take the dogs along - they love to ride. I don't know if I'm going to eat out or not, but I do want to stop at Walmart; my kitchen timer stopped working and has to be replaced, and I think I'll pick up an extra bag of kitty kibble. I still have most of a 44 pound bag, but I'll probably need more before the month is through, and I don't want to go into stores as the holidays approach if I can help it.

I did get some more cleaning done yesterday; even doing an hour or so of work every day makes a big difference. Leaning that my psycho neighbors are going to be moving has me energized; it's going to be soooo nice to not have to worry if one of my kitties gets out. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} I pity their new neighbors, wherever they're going... That's a small house - I think it's only two bedrooms and one bathroom, so my nice new neighbor across the street and I are praying for someone nice - maybe it'll be another single woman our age.

Jean, that drive you have to make reminds me of when I lived in Na'alehu - all those winding roads, and they were treacherous in the dark. I think in this case your safety is more important than the money you'd spend on an overnight hotel stay.

Oh, I have plenty of towels as well - yet it's hard to resist a really good sale when I find one. So far this year I've been good about not buying non-essentials; I do want to get a clock radio with CD player and have it in my Amazon card, but it's a week tomorrow since they received the textbooks I returned, and I'm still awaiting the money in my account. I contacted them the other day and the rep said it should be in by Tuesday. It better be, or they're going to hear it!

Welcome, puppy lips - how many dogs do you have? One of mine loves giving kisses; she's also big on goosing every man she sees. {#emotions_dlg.blush} She's either going to get me in trouble one of these days, or maybe I'll meet someone nice because of her. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Well, I have some chocolate cupcakes that need to be frosted in green mint buttercream, then I'll be on my way. I'm taking some to the bank, some to the PO (one of the two clerks I like so much is off tomorrow, so I have to take them today), Victor will get a box, and some will go to the neighbor I met yesterday.

Have a blessed day, everyone!
