Which would be warmer: fleece or sweatshirt fabric?

I'm taking a trip and want to take either a fleece shirt or a sweatshirt. Which one would be warmer? I might be wearing it with a windbreaker over it.

I think a fleece shirt would definitely be warmer than a sweatshirt. I don't have a fleece shirt, but I do have a fleece jacket that's very warm.

I have a d&c fleece shirt. It's really warm, so I wear it as a layering piece. Fleece shirt for sure.

Fleece for sure. I love fleece jackets & coats too. Warm & not bulky.
