Bargain hunting

Just a curious coincidence.

I purchased a Mossimo gray and white striped cotton pullover from Target a couple of weeks ago, back longer than the front as the style now dictates, very casual for lounging around the house, rugged outsize stitching details on front and back. Kind of simple and cute. $22.99. I like it.

Today I was at our nearby TJ Maxx and saw it as an off-brand private label for $9.99. Same pullover.

Just imagine the markup at QVC if TJ Maxx is so much cheaper than Target.

Of course the overhead is completely different: bricks and mortar locations and online presence of Target vs. the QVC vendor timeslot $$$, the host $$$, the shipping and handling $$$, and the online presence of QVC.

I was at JCP's website buying some sheets ... so much stuff on sale. I found a bunch of rayon challis button front shirts. Bought 8 of them!

It does pay to shop around. I found a skirt at Macy's on clearance. Regular price 42.50. Marked down to 21.25 with the Wow Pass I got 19.69 including tax. I wanted another but they didn't have my size. They did a search and found it at another store and they shipped it to me free. I got it in 4 days.

Now that is cute! And I don't even really like stripes but that one is so cute. I have seen so many stripes this year out in retail. I think they will be really popular again, this spring and summer.
