? about what to wear with this dress

I just purchased the dress shown below at Macy's. I got it in black. I would like to wear it to work but don't want to look like I am attending a funeral. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I can wear with it? Perhaps a blazer... if so what color? What color shoes/boots/tights, etc. The ladies on these boards have so many good ideas. Hope someone can help me out. TIA, Maria

If you want to keep it simple wear a pair of cobalt blue tights with a cute shoe or booties. You could always add a colorful scarf or necklace with a coordinating chunky cuff bracelet. I would keep the earring small and simple for the office. If it is cold then add a jacket or sweater with at least a touch of cobalt blue in it.

Do you like animal print? That dress in black with an animal print sweater would be great, or something like dark purple or burgundy for Fall/Winter. Add black tights and knee high boots are you are set.

Beautiful dress! You could wear sheerish stockings in gray or another dark color with any color shoes. Do you have jewelry that could add color (and direct your choice of stockings/shoes/bag) or maybe a pretty scarf that you could use to fill in the neckline? I wouldn't wear a jacket with it unless I had to, as the dress has such nice lines.

That is pretty. Black dresses are always chic. You don't need a jacket, IMO. Wear it just by itself. You can add a jacket but you don't have to. It will be classic and chic all by itself. Very lovely dress, I love the style.
