Good morning ladies, hope all is well.

Been up since 5:00 today, so I am trying to get some things done early, I do have a bit a cleaning to do and have to get clothes washed. I think I am loving my new washing machine, it holds more than my old one so I can put my bedspread in it and not worry. I have to make a trip to the post office and go and get Halloween candy. Can't believe it is the end of October, where did the year go?

Twinny - Hope the new schedule works out for you and you and DH can get more rest.

Kathleen - Hope you new clothes work out for you, I cleaned out clothes and am down to a good amount but I do need to organize them better so I am sure to wear all that I have. I do have a bad habit of wearing the same things over and over, you truly do wear the same things 80% of the time. I noticed I did that last year, so hopefully I can change that this year.

LindaL - Hope you and DH get a good walk in today, how is you DH been feeling?

Jean - If you are working today, have a good day.

Arlene - Baking has never been one of my favorite things, I get bored with project (especially cookies) about half way thru the project.

Well off to get something else done here, hope everyone has a great day.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Susan--Thank you for starting the thread. Great news on the washing machine meeting your needs. Yes, the year is passing quickly and once Halloween is gone, Thanksgiving will quickly arrive.

As of right now, I'm not working although if I'm called, I will likely go. At the same time, it is nice being able to sit here and relax. Right now, it is 39 degrees so I'm in no hurry to venture out as the house is comfy. If I don't go to work. I'm torn between just going to the city with no agenda, appointments, etc. and just have a fun day or staying at home and doing things around the house. I'm not a big fan of doing things in the city on the weekend as it is always so crowded.

I came home from work last night to find a message on my voice mail telling me that my initial appointment with the GI specialist for the colonoscopy is on November 12. I think I might call and see if that can be changed to November 11 as that is a holiday and a day off. It would be my luck to be able to work on the day I have the appointment. No work equals no pay, so I like to maximize earning opportunities.

I do like the Earth Origins ankle boots being shown right now, but I would like a little higher heel. I also liked the Travelon bag shown earlier today. I could be adding some items to the Wish List that I just thinned out a little.

I have no experience with this brand but I see the Today's Deal at Amazon is 50% off Lucky Brand denim jeans for women, men and children.

Midnight is wanting to climb on board for some cuddle time, so I will give him the opportunity to enjoy some daytime with me.

If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Looks as if everyone is busy They are using an empty business building across the street from me to distribute free food. The cars are all over. One of the managers asked if they could park their car in my driveway so they could have easy access to using it without being trapped by the "customers." I wasn't going anywhere, so I had no problem with that.

Afterwards, I got a call from my health center. It appears I have iron deficiency anemia because my body isn't processing it right but the reason has yet to be determined. All the other tests are fine. They telephoned a prescription for the iron supplement to the drug store. Just another thing to add to the drug mix. I think that now makes 9 prescriptions but at least, I'm still ticking. The odd thing about this is that I feel good; I'm not tired and have all kinds of energy today. I am always cold in the feet and have restless leg syndrome at times; otherwise, I have no symptoms of it.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Good Morning/Afternoon! Thanks for getting us started Susan. Glad you are enjoying your new washing machine. DD's "new/used" washer is leaking. This really makes us mad since we (since I gave her most of the money) spent a bunch of money having the old washer repaired, and then on this reconditioned one. Hope that the repair isn't too costly. If it is, she may need to buy a new washer. What brand/type did you buy?

The year has certainly been rushing by. DH is doing okay, and we did have a nice walk this morning. It is still cool in the morning and much warmer in the afternoon. According to the weather forecast, things will change on Monday -- at least 10 degrees cooler for the highs. Oh well, it is practically November.

You are correct Arlene, my costume last year was a carrot. I really liked that costume in contrast with Bat Girl this year. This costume is very difficult to put on, and it is tight and plastic covered, which probably will make it very hot tomorrow. Yuck!

Hi Jean -- a rare day off for you. I know you like working, but it is good to have a break once in a while. Hope the doctor can accommodate you on November 11.

Waves to Kathleen (how sweet of your boss), Arlene, twinny, Marijane, LindaR, Gayle, Karen, Rosa, Val, Sonya, Jules, Gina, Kathy, our new poster (sorry I forgot your name), and all of our posters and readers.

No big plans for today, I need gasoline and a little bit of produce, and Curves will come later.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday!

Hugs,

Linda

ETA -- hope your new medicine helps Jean. DD has a problem with iron, and she needs to take extra plus something to help avoid side effects.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Got my wash almost done, trip to the post office is done and my Halloween candy is bought. I still have to sweep the downstairs but I will have my tea first for my caffeine boost.

LindaL - My washing machine is a Fisher & Paykel, they are based in New Zealand and the machines are built in Ohio. It is a more expensive machine, but I liked that it was a top loading machine and held more laundry than the others did. I did not want a front loading machine because the just take to long to run a load of clothes. Hope your DD's machine can be fixed.

Jean - Glad you are taking the day off, hope they can find out what the problem is. Glad you are feeling well besides the results of the tests. I had bought a pair of Lucky brand jeans and ended up taking them back because I decided to make due with what I had. I have to admit, they did fit well and sometime I kick myself for taking them back. So much for good ideas. I thinned out my wish list a week ago, it went from 2 1/2 pages to 1. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking when I go back and see what I put on it.

Well off to drink my tea and then sweep floors, hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Linda--Sorry that DD is having continued problems with the washer. Sometimes, reconditioned items can work but it is a risky investment as it can be money lost. I think you will look smashing as "BatGirl." It is good that you and DH had a good walk together.

Susan--You are making progress on achieving your goals for the day. I haven't heard of that make of washer. I also like top loading.

I couldn't switch the appointment to the 11th. It seems that they managed to squeeze me in on the 12th on an "early as possible" recommendation from the local place.

I see the TSV is available at Amazon at $199 but it just has one tube of gel and no easy pays, of course. The reviews are very good. It is a product that has to be used frequently as the results are temporary.

I liked the Vera Bradley tote that is on clearance that was shown yesterday but it did not have a zipper closure. I don't carry important items in something that cannot be securely closed.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Hello friends! Last night I tried on clothes while DH watched tv and all the tops I tried on and thought about passing them along, were the ones that he liked. So I have several in my bag to take to "city home" when I go next weekend.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Good afternoon ladies:

LindaL: Hugs to you--hope your DH's procedure goes well. Washer issues--ugh. Always something to deal with.

Judge: Welcome to the group---please join us---we always love having new ladies. We are a ""no bash"" zone so you can feel comfortable to share with us. Many of us have dealt with ""stuff"" along the way!.

Jean: Oh hopefully your new meds will be helpful. The prep for the ""scope"" is no fun--but hopefully no issues will be found.

I had not hear of your washing machine. I like something made in the US!

Twinny: Hope you are getting some rest/relief. I know your medical situation is complicated and insurance is such a maze. Hopefully you will find an appropriate plan to suit your needs.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Susan,, I am glad that you like your new washer. Mine is almost 20 y/o but still seems to be doing a good job. i have never heard of that name brand, but sounds like a Gem.

Jean, sorry you can;t change your appt. It seems like when I make plans to do something fun, I get a change of appt. for that day.

LL, Yes the year is really flying by. Sorry about your DD's washer. It is maddening to spend all kinds of $$$ & it still doesn't work properly. I am glad that your DH is doing well & prayers for his appt. next week.

RC, Have fun with the new tops. Nothing like new clothes to put a smile on our faces is there?

Today I finally had time to fix a nice lunch. I made a pizza which made my DH very happy. We did have a nice time in the hot tub today. We got about an inch of rain yesterday & it was very foggy this morning when I went to mom's. Now it is mild & sunny. Indian Summer has been great & should last until the middle of next week. Then they say October temps again.

I have never seen the show Something Borrowed Something New, but I just got an email from one of my 2nd cousins saying one of her sisters granddaughters will be featured tonight. I hope it is a fun show to watch. I know the grandmother & I guess she gave them her original wedding gown. The bride will be married 12-13-14 in a gown that she picked out on the show.

Tomorrow I am having lunch out with a friend. We are going downtown to a local Chinese restaurant. DH is going for lunch downtown with his friend to a different restaurant. Farmer's market will be going on so it will be a bustling time. Nap time is calling my name again.

I am starting to feel less tired & will be so glad when mom gets some help starting next Monday. I will meet the gal next Monday to show her what needs to be done. She said the only days that she can't go are on Tuesday's. I told her I will do Tuesday.

Hugs to all of you.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday

Linda R, Just getting out with friends again is a big bonus to me. The weather has been so nice that I am trying to make the most of it. Yes, Changing insurance companies will be no fun for me. DH is easy as he makes few visits & only has one Dr. while I make many visits with numerous Dr.'s I did call the social services place in town as many people have told me to go talk to her. I want to compare what she thinks is my best plan before I actually make the phone call next Friday to the gal that our insurance co. has set us up with. It was so easy when we could use my DH's retirement plan.

I am actually getting some extra rest as I don't have to be on call a dozen times a day. I hope that the eye issues will soon be resolved so that we can all get back to a normal life style again. I don't like change & this has been a huge change for me to get used to.
