Solutions for belts that are too long?

I just ordered some skinny belts to go over my Linea Whisper Knits sweaters & cardigans. They are all a couple of inches too long and there is no extra matching loop attached. I don't really want to hassle with an exchange. Do you have an idea for ways to secure the end of the belt? I've tried thread and even a pipe cleaner before! What about Velcro? I'm looking forward to your ideas!

I used to use a paperclip in a pinch, although I don't recommend it, lol. Velcro sounds like it would work, but I would be inclined to return the belts and buy some that fit properly.

Back when I was cinching my waist tightly, I'd use a hair pin to hold down the end. Do they still make those?

A shoemaker can shorten it. I did that years ago with a strap on a purse.

They make small velcro ""dots"" that are self-adhesive ... that would probably work best for you. I use them around the apartment .... lots of uses.

Google ""velcro dots"" ... you'll find purchasing opportunities.
