fashion RESOLUTIONS for 2014

Ladies,

Did you make any FASHION resolutions yet?

I have been thinking about this, but I'm not sure how practical it will be:

No purchases of clothing items for 2014, EXCEPT:

1) replacing any "foundation" pieces that wear out, like tights/panties or holey socks (I wouldn't go a year with ill fitting undergarments!)

2) getting existing pieces tailored/upcycled

3) any unforeseen occasions (I know I have a September wedding, but I haven't heard yet if it's black tie, in which case I would need a gown)

I also want to "recombine" my fashions to include things I don't usually pair together- jackets/dresses, scarves/skirts, etc.

I'll we working off of a list for each season. That helped me a lot last year. But the lists will be short for 2014.

This is the year for getting the house in shape.

On 12/31/2013 Klein said: Lola, you are a real treasure...I'm in too. Love your resolutions and I'm making a pile for my tailor tomorrow. I am really tired of buying clothes.

Welcome Klein!

If you are a shutterbug, perhaps you could do pictures of the "before" tailoring and "after."

For those who sew, here is an interesting upcycle from one of those free T shirts that always seem to be in a size L or XL. This is the back of the shirt.

Here is a dress to a skirt:

The original dress was a Costco find that once home, the lady didn't LOVE.

She turned it into a skirt, and bought two cheap Ts at Walmart to make this ruffled T.
