"Status" by Star Jones

Ahhh...NO thank you! The name of her line is just as obnoxious as she is! Is QVC unable to provide its customers w/ styles by REAL designers??? Cannot stand Star Jones-What she did to earn "freebies" for her wedding was beyond unethical, immoral and just downright disgusting! Would never buy a single thing from a person like this.

I don't follow all the celeb gossip. What did she do to get the free bees?

I missed this. She has a QVC line of fashions?

I find her completely phony and obnoxious.

My problem is the price point, the price of her dress online now to ME...is high for polyester. Most of these "celeb" designers are just a face to a background design team as in the Kardashian Line, Jennifer Hudson, Joan Rivers, etc etc.

As far as the free wedding gifts...don't they "all" get that type of free items whether the wedding is on TV or not. I know a lot of the vendors give free stuff to all celebs.

I wish QVC would spend more time promoting, adding more shows, getting more merchandise on the good designers such and Louis Del Olio and not continue to bring these "no name" people who in 3 years will be GONE!!!!

I don't much care for her clothes from the three pieces they're showing tonight on PMS.

I refuse to buy stuff from people who just put their names on stuff. I want to know who is really behind the brand.

I think the three pieces that are on-line are very cute. I really like the dress. I have no interest in buying a cap sleeve dress at this time of the year though. While I'm not a fan of her's, if I like something she's offering, I'll buy it. She's not done anything so heinous that I feel total disgust or hate for her.

I can not stand the woman either. She just turns me off. She was pushing some really ugly jewelry on ValueVision( now shopnbc) years ago... overpriced UGLY jewelry that did not last very long... tanked....

Definitely saving my money here. From what I can see it's nothing special. All I can say is,why Star Jones? Does she have a new talk show or is she hosting a new game show??

She was a lawyer.... why she feels she has to push clothes and jewelry is beyond me?? She is not attractive... big or small. She has the voice of a cat jumping off a roof.

I'm not a fan of hers at all. I can't understand why she has a fashion line at QVC, she certainly isn't a fashion icon! I do like the gray jacket she has available, but I won't order because I really dislike her. I can live without it. I would rather save my pennies for more Linea anyway.

I guess she needs more income since she spent it all on buying herself a husband (that she's no longer married to).

I didn't know she had a clothing line much less was on QVC. I don't find her any more off putting than two other members of The View who were hawking their junk on QVC. If it works, more power to her. The venture of the other two died on the vine. Can't wait to hear what Babs will try to sell....her next memoir?

{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown} She recently made a derogatory comment about Paula Deen's lawsuit dismissal, and I thought that was dreadful (you can google it). Seriously who is she to comment and diss Paula Deen and stick her nose in that business? I didn't care for her before and now I really don't like her.

Can someone explain the process to me? Does the Q approach these celebs and ask them to be a spokesperson and give them a line of clothing?

Or do the "stars" start making a line and approach QVC with their clothing? Do you see their clothes in department stores?

How can Kris Jenner and Star Jones be in the same category as Bob Mackie, Mark Bouwer, or George Simonton?

I just can't fathom that these celebs are approaching fabric mills and sewing mills and negotiating deals.

I don't really understand what was derogatory about what Star said as related to the PD suit. To be fair, Star was a guest on the Piers Morgan show and he asked her about the dismissal aspect of the case and she gave her opinion. She is an attorney so she understood and actually I thought her explanation was quite good.

OTOH look how many people all over, including on this board, gave their opinion on the PD matter and then didn't understand the dismissal of part of the case. When you have a big, high profile person, it's going to be a matter of discussion everywhere.

I think these celebs decide they want to do a line of clothing and approach a company who designs the items, the celeb approves them or gives them ideas for fabric, colors, etc. and the company runs with it.

I don't know who contacts who but I would guess the celeb pitches the idea to try and get someone to carry the line.

The derogatory part was what she said about the okra, that was just uncalled for and snarky. Alright, it's fine if she wants to give her opinion as an attorney and be professional but what she said about the okra, I found to be nasty and very unprofessional. People need to let the Paula Deen thing go. The lawsuit was dismissed, the judge threw it out and it's over. But for some reason it seems that people still need to put in their 2 cents.{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Star could have been professional when asked about the lawsuit but she chose not to. There was no reason to say what she said. whatever.....she doesn't seem like a very nice person.

Celebrity sells. That's why manufacturers are always willing to put a celeb name on their products. I think it's unfair to put Joan in that category now. She is one of the few who are more than just a face and name on the brand. Joan is definitely in charge of her company. She goes to "work" at the office -- and is informed and involved in out design, production, distribution, and other operation aspects which are necessary to run a successful business.

As for Star. As I do with most of the other celebrity brands, I'll probably take a pass.

I wasn't offended by her comment although I will say it was snarky. But I can see where some would find it derogatory. But, the lawsuit wasn't dismissed and that's what Star was explaining. Only a portion of it was.

I do think Star comes across as obnoxious and not likeable at all. It will be interesting to see how she comes across when presenting her line. I cannot stand Kris Jenner but she comes across as extremely likable when presenting her clothing.
