Once, long ago I bought quite a few faux fur coats from the Q. I don't wear them anymore, rather dated. Would they sell or should I donate them. They are really warm. Should,ve saved my money. What would you do?

Faux fur never goes out of style, if you are not going to wear them, then I agree with Raider Fan, you should donate them to one of your local women's shelters, or your church. Lots of ladies would appreciate a warm coat with fall and winter coming up. You cannot get your money back that you spent, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you made some women very happy and warm. Smile

I have a Dennis Basso Faux fur coat and I don't consider it dated at all. It is a very classic style and I wear it at every opportunity. (I live in a cold climate)

Some ladies take them to their tailor and redesign them. They remove the arms and turns the coat into a long vest. Some keep the vest long and some make it short.

Keep the arms of fur to make a fur collar, or two types of collars for wearing over a light sweater.

I have a real fur I turned into a big fur Teddy Bear. Of course I love Teddy Bears.

I know animal shelters are always looking for real fur coats--betting they wouldn't say no to faux.

I've donated, and was later informed of the deep gratitude of some of the recipients. Warm feelings all around! One of my very favorite sources is Dress For Success. Truly, a gift that keeps on giving!

sparrow, I too had my Grammy's real mink turned into teddy bears. I think of her every time I see those darling bears. Have given some away to family. I got about 5 bears from Grammy's coat. I DID wear it til it was wearing out,,,,wore it with jeans (many years ago). It's still nice to have 'Grammy' around.

have QUITE a few of Dennis',,,,moving south,,,still keeping them. I even had some of the long ones shortened (I'm only 5'5") and really adore them and love the warmth and the look. Greedy pig that I am, not yet ready to let go of them.

Maybe I am the one who is dated. I loved my coats, but I really have nowhere to wear them anymore. I hope that they can be used by someone.

You could probably sell them through a consignment shop.
