When Sharks Wear Pantyhose with Sandals

Started 1357853194.833 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1357942053.513 by corita

Perusing The People's Choice Award Red Carpet looks on Yahoo News/Entertainment when I noticed Lori Greiner was there. Looked very pretty, but....our favorite gal had on pantyhose...with open-toed sandals. Oh the horror of it! Makes you think if a multi-millionaire "Shark" can do it, then....will Fashion Police point it out?

That's an awful look. And I still see people wearing socks with sandals.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I didn't think anyone wore pantyhose anymore. Although, I do like black tights with skirts/dresses in the winter.

Many people still wear hose and always have. Just not with sandals. LOL

I'm seeing more and more sheer black hose this year than I have in a long time. There is a host on QVC who wear hose with open-toed sandals too.

You can't buy love but you can adopt it. Adopt, don't shop.

I wear sandal foot hose with sandals ... I make my own rules.

I don't like the look, hose and open toed shoes just seems wrong......I still wear pantyhose on occasion but never with open toed shoes.

The rich & famous can pretty much do whatever they want. Even getting a not-so-nice "review" on Fashion Police, or being featured on The Soup is getting even more attention.

Unfortunately, Lori had on nude stockings....and the seam was stretching over her big toe. I wish I could confidently post a picture of her on this forum, but....was just surprised to see her at a big-time event like TPCAwards looking much, much different than everyone else. Would think her stylist would advise her not to wear PH.

A closed toe shoe works beautifully with stockings.

yuck...not sorry I missed that.

Not a good look, but whatever.

I've never looked to her for fashion tips.

Thinking back, open toed shoes were very popular when I was a child, and in the winter, some beautiful shoes were made of suede, and were always worn with stockings. My mom wore brown suede open toed shoes when she was married in October 1942. Because it was Fall, with stockings. In the heat of summer? Without.

Agree.

I wear hose and tights. I will wear nude hose when it is too warm for tights, but too cool to go bare legged. I also wear sheer black hose with some of my dresses, because tights can look too heavy with certain styles and fabrics of dresses.

I prefer this look myself rather than my pale white legs. Also, not everyone is blessed with great looking legs.

I would never go to a wedding or a funeral in a dress without hose. It goes against my old-school fashion.

I don't wear skirts a lot anymore but when I do I wear pantyhose. My pasty Seattle legs are not very attractive!!

I don't care how "out" they are, but if I'm wearing a dress to a funeral, I will wear pantyhose.

Is it really fashion faux paux or is it something some just do not like?

I don't mind really unless they are reinforced toes on the pantyhose and wearing sandals..that looks horrible..

ITA! However, I would also be wearing closed toe shoes.

I just don't like the look of pantyhose with an open toe shoe.

*sigh*

I live in CO so would never wear sandals in the Winter time or open toed shoes. I do wear panty hose with a dress or skirt if I am not wearing tights. I don't think bare legs look good unless it is Summer and you are tan. I also can't stand putting my feet into heels without having on panty hose or tights! Of course I also think everyone has to do what they feel comfortable with and what looks good to them!

You get one go round in this old world and you better make the most of it. It is not a dress rehearsal! Step out of your box and enjoy all that life has to offer!

Actually, I think everyone looks better with hose, for the same reason we like to wear foundation on our faces - it evens out the skin tones and hides flaws.

I'll be happy to see the no-hose look go away.
