Good afternoon!

Barbara are you home yet from Vegas?  How is Syd doing?

Whitney called earlier. She locked herself out of her house when taking Dylan to the bus so had to call a locksmith. Not the greatest way to start the day but at least the weather was good.

TT has been grabbing things and taking off at high speed. He mearly got the Kindle a while back.

Fran, what are you up to? I hope you are feeling better.

Hello to Hippo, Jules if you're reading, Cheryl, Bonnie, Sandy and everyone else.

Hi Claudia,

The thread is finally up - will take me a while to get used to the new format.

It has been cold today and rainy...down to 43 tonight so I am wrapped in a blanket.

But by MOnday - it will beup to 80. Go figure.

We had a good trip to Vegas -found a new,, huge casino off the strip that we enjoyed. we gambled, ate dinner there two nights at two different restaurants and even saw a movie. It was a good time. No warmth there and thepools at our resort were beautiful.

We may be getting Syd back - Mollie has kind of had a relapse so will wait and see what her dr. says.

How was Rod's VA trip??

I will post to morrow.

Giggle a bit...it is good for the soul.

chprsp12682409264525 PostsRegistered 9/5/2007

I'm glad you enjoyed Vegas but I'm sorry to hear about Mollie. I hope she will recover soon. That must be difficult for everyone.

No real answers from the VA. They tend to leave things as they are. He has tests and a cystoscope next month with his urologist so we'll see then if he goes back on Lupron. Now he's off to bowling having taken a pain pill for his back.

I went to my monthly brunch but was the only one so stopped at the grocery then came back home. As a group we aren't too good at calling when we can't attend.

Whitney told us we can order Dylan's artwork this week on display my art dot com so I will be checking that out.

Today it will be mid 50's. For the next week temperatures will stay around that but rain is forecast. I'm just enjoying the warmer (for us) temperatures and sunshine while we have it. 80's sound great.

TT has been busy chasing Rusty and pestering Sam. TT was in the kitchen just now when packages were delivered so I didn't have to wade through dogs to get to the door.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi Claudia and everyone else,

I cannot put into words how annoying this forum format is. I would be banned if I did. i do find that looking at it for very long gives me a headache.

Mollie is doing better today. I am hoping this was just a blip.

Did all of the longstanding threads go away with the change?? I cannot find some that I used to follow.

Hope that Linda is enjoying her trip No one else appears to be posting except for us.

We visited a fantastic outlet mall in Vegas. i was so good - only bought some summer clothes for Syd and refrained from purchasing an adorable patchwork Coach bag. I was proud of myself.

I did pick up a fewnew tees on fashion day - those and capris are my summer uniform.

Hope that TT is through annoying the other animals. Was glad to hear that Rod seems to be feeling better.

It will be fun to view Dylan' artwork online. How is the asthma coming along?

It is sunny here today - will be warmer each day. Have a good one.,

Giggle a bit...it is good for the soul.

I did email Fran. She may be finding this new format difficult. I know it gives me a headache. Linda should be home sometime this weekend. Hopefully Cheryl, Bonnie, Jules and others will check in as they can. This new system is difficult to say the least. I don't know what happened to some posts. I know last night I had to start this over.

So far the asthma treatments are working.

Fedex just brought a large package for Rod. TT immediately hopped up to try to open it so I put it on the table.

Congratulations on resisting temptation. Most of my shopping is online as the stores here do not have much selection. When traveling Rod is not inclined to stop at  outlet malls. Now antique malls he's willing to stop and look. I just paid one  bill off- always a good feeling.

I'm glad Mollie is doing better today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Right now TT is resting but that never lasts long.

I found it!!!!

Hey Claudia, and Barbara, glad that you two are still here and keeping the thread active.  I do not think that this new and improved is to my liking YET!!!  Thank you both for not forgetting me, having a rough few weeks, some days better than others, more emotional than physical, but this too shall pass, right?!

Barbara, still have not seen PS#5, think that I will e- hippo.

DH is still working two days a week.  He may be going to Haiti next month.  I am so proud of him, told him the other night and he came back into the room later and said, 'thank you for telling me.'  It brought tears to my eyes.

ETA:  what happened to all my posts and now I am a new member?!

Fran, I'm so happy to hear from you. Other people have found their posts at 0 too. This whole setup is crazy.

I did see PS5 a bit ago. Over on the left click view all categories. You should see Among Friends listed. Click on that then at the top click recent instead of popular and I think you'll find it.

Your DH is amazing. The rest of us are proud of him too and you for encouraging him.

Like you say, some days are better than others.

I ordered a pair of knit jeans from Coldwater Creek. Boy are they comfortable. I ordered down a size. Soon I'll be able to get my spring jackets out.

By the way, it's 66 degrees here. Just wonderful.

Enjoy the critters and your steak Jules. With the snow melting our backyard is turning to mud. TT is helping the process along by racing about then skidding to a stop.

Rod's first 2 games were pretty good but by the 3rd he was tiring. I stayed home as he was expecting some packages. Now he's taking it easy- feet hurt, hip hurts and so on. TT wants his seat and is barking at him to move.

So I am not going to retype the entire thing.

Claudia -this bb is driving me nuts.

Fran - so good to hear from you. Claudia gave good instructions on how to find the PS post. I found it yesterday - your DH is an amazing and generous man.

claudia - love the CC knit jeans - have three pairs.

Jules - maybe Spring is actually coming. Where do you live??

I will see if this now works.

Hey Barbara, you're not the only one who can't stand this new format. It gives me a headache. I can't wait to hear Linda's comments let alone Bonnie, Cheryl and Sandy if they get on.

TT has been doing a combination of gallop, bounce and slide in the house. Outside he lies on the few remaining sections of snow and ice in the yard. With these large dogs I am so glad the new fridge has the freezer on the bottom. I can open the refrigerator portion even with a dog in the way. When the freezer opens TT is usually right there hoping for an ice cube.

I was hestitant to order the knit jeans. Now I can't believe how comfortable they are.

Today it is 70 degrees out. Simply wonderful. I can't wait for daylight savings.

Fran, what are you up to? I have a load of Adam's wash started and after supper (spaghetti) I hope to get some clothes sorted.

Jules, how was your day?

Good morning!  It is foggy here and may have rain on and off.  Yesterday t was rain, went with DH to pick out new glasses.  He got a great deal, the lenses were 50% off with new frames.  Also the frames that I picked out,he liked!! and most of all they were in the wrong place, should have been in the 50% off rack!!!  He is a happy camper, can even see better!!  We went to Target while the glassed were completed, love Lenscrafters.

I got some sleep pants, undies, cami sleep tops and a belt.  Needless to say I really was hurting by the time we got home, had a hard time getting to sleep, etc, ice, ice, ice!!

I have put this thread and PS#5 in my favorites list and can go directly to them, but still not happy with this new 'thing'.

Looking forward to a nice week-end, DS#2 is coming today thru Sunday, yeah!!

DH is in the process of gettings all his shots, also had a physical this week, had been 6 years!!!  I think that he is excited about going to Haiti.  One DS is not really happy, but hopefully he will come around and be proud of his  Dad.

I hope that we all keep this going, would really be sad to see it end.  Hope to hear from all of you soon.

Good morning!

It sounds like yesterday was a busy day. What a great deal on glasses. That is something I need to do. Unfortunately no Lens Crafters here.

I can understand your DS worrying about the Haiti trip but this seems to be something your DH really wants to do and that's important. I'm sure everyone is so proud of him. Enjoy the weekend with DS#2.

Most of my shopping is online. There is so little choice here and when we go to Erie Rod is too tired for shopping plus hiking around the mall there would wear me out. I ordered a few microfiber undies from the other channel and at some point need sleep pants and cami tops for summer.

TT just hopped on Rod's lap. Thank heavens the recliner held up.

So far today I've changed the sheets on Adam's bed (that's a low priority for him) and put clean towels in his bathroom. He should be home tonight before heading to reserve this weekend. Now I'm going through laundry baskets that have been left in the basement seeing what to throw, wash, or wash and donate. Hopefully by tonight that will all be done. Rain is forecast for the weekend but we should still have warm temperatures.

I too hope we can keep this going. I looked at the tsv but am not sure about the ruffles.

Wow go away for a while and come back and not even recognize the place? This is just awful.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm still not watching QVC and never know what's being shown.

Managed to hurt my knee and ended up in emergency. Now have a brace on from my hip down to my toes and need to see an orthopedic doctor.

Claudia is TT still being mischevious?

Jules how are you doing?

Fran what have you guys been up to? I can't find an older thread to read to catch up.

Barbara are you still in Arizona? Did you enjoy your time in Vegas?

Sandy said to say hi to everyone. She's having computer troubles again and couldn't get on to see how everyone is.

Gonna try and come back later to see how everyone is.

chprsp1268422019.234525 PostsRegistered 9/5/2007

It's good to hear from you Bonnie but sorry about your knee. Will you be able to see the specialist soon?

When they made changes to the boards we started over as we couldn't find the old thread. I find this new setup hard on the eyes.

TT jumped on my lap a bit ago while Rod was out- all 80 pounds plus. He finally got down when I asked if he wanted "out". The large lap dog isn't bad it's when he decides to chew after about 30 seconds.

Poor Sandy I bet she's had it with the computer people.

Now this site is driving me nuts - i just lost another post.

rehearsed my choir this morning - the concert is Sunday. I am exhausted so will not do  a lot this afternoon.

DS and family arrive this evening so I will probably not post this weekend. The weather won't be really warm, but we should get one pool day in.

Claudia - TT is quite the lap puppy. My kids are not real neat either - think that is a rebellion against my own neatness.

Fran - you got some good deals on your glasses. You must be so proud ofyour DH - he is quite the guy. i think the thread will keep going.

Bonnie take care of that knee. It is a tricky part of the body to injure - hope the brace takes care of it. I am having a lot of trouble posting -keep losing them.

So I will try again

Good morning!

I had trouble signing on this morning but everything seems to work now. Adam got home after I went to bed and left again early for reserve. Yup, I can tell he's been home, clothes on the floor, army gear strewn all over the room, chicken wings on a plate. He left the petgate ajar and TT grabbed papers and a sock. Luckily no chicken wings. Peek is glad he didn't gobble up the cat food. TT must have known he'd be caught quickly as he dashed in, grabbed, and ran.

Just a bit more to do in the basement (thank heavens). My back is really hurting after yesterday's cleanup. For a minute I wasn't sure I could get up.

Fran and Barbara, I hope you have a great weekend enjoying family visits.

Bonnie, I hope you're taking it easy. That brace must make it difficult to move around.

Linda, I hope you had a great trip.

Jules, I managed to get on.

Hi to Hippo, Cheryl, and Sandy.

Metoo1268507485.43747 PostsRegistered 7/15/2007

I also had trouble signing in this AM.  Hope that it is ok now!

We have baby back ribs and kraut in crock pot, will add small red potatoes soon, smells yummy!

DH and DS just got back from WalMart, bought a mouse to use with my laptop, loving it so far!

Claudia, thanks for the pictures, wish that I could give TT a big hug!

Bonnie, it was so good to see you posting but so sorry to hear about your 'accident'.  I hope that you are taking it easy and letting your sweet DH take care of you. My DH is still doing the volunteer work with Water Missions International, maybe going to Haiti soon.  I am so proud of him, one DS is not so happy though that he is going to Haiti.

Linda, hope that you find us easily.

Barbara, know that you are enjoying your family.  Also glad that you had a good time in Vegas.  We had a nice time there in the 90s, DH had meeting at the AF base and I went along for the 'ride'.

Hippo, what are you and DH doing for fun?  I hope that you do not have too many honey do's.

Good Evening!

We got home yesterday evening from our trip to Mexico, and I spent ages just trying to read all my e-mails.  Today I have been doing laundry, grocery shopping, etc.  Glad you could keep the thread going Claudia.  And, glad to see you Fran, Barbara, Jules, and Bonnie (sorry about your accident.)

These new boards are very hard to figure out, but I guess I'll get used to it at some point.  We had a nice trip, but I ate too much and exercised too little.  I took a walk this afternoon, and now my knees are hurting.  I don't think we will go on an Elderhostel tour again too soon because we felt the cost was a bit high and we were a bit too young and active to fit in well with many of those on the trip.  But, it was a good experience, and now we know some very nice places to visit down there.

While I was away, my SIL had a very bad incident -- he is on lots of pills and basically went crazy -- started hearing voices, etc., and ended up in the hospital.  My poor DD really had her hands full.  But, he seems to be a bit better.  They took him off most of his drugs, and now she is trying to get one doctor to coordinate all the medicines he takes (depression, heart, blood pressure, etc.)  Yesterday (Friday) was her birthday, and it was not too fun.  In addition, one of her friends lost her daughter (2 1/2) to brain cancer.  DD has been invited to speak at a benefit luncheon to celebrate the little girl's life.  This is to raise funds for childhood cancer.

Thanks for sharing the TT pictures Claudia -- he is quite a dog.

I need to get back to my bills now.  Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs, Linda

Good morning!

Fran, your babyback ribs and sauerkraut with potatoes sounds good. Do you have a recipe?

I got a mouse for my Asus from Amazon and prefer using it.

Bonnie, I hope you're managing to get about with the brace.

Linda, you must have had quite a surprise when you got on the boards. I'm so sorry to hear about your sil. Having one doctor coordinate his meds is a good idea. Not a great birthday for your DD especially with her friend's loss. One of my coworkers years back lost a daughter to that.

I'm still very sore from working in the basement. Last night I used some of the joint formula. It seemed to help my back and the shoulder I fell on earlier when I tripped over the dog bed.

TT goes to the vet tomorrow to be neutered. Sam will probably enjoy a day of peace and quiet before his buddy returns.

I'm wearing a lace trimmed (on the bottom) turtleneck I got from CWC. If they had more colors besides red I'd get another. I can't believe how comfortable and flattering the fit is.

Barbara, I hope you've been enjoying a family weekend and hope Mollie continues to do well.

Hello to Cheryl, Hippo, Sandy, and Jules.

LindaLatte1268586753.5935293 PostsRegistered 8/16/2007

Good Morning/Afternoon!

Thanks for getting us started Claudia.  Does neutering change the dog's personality at all?  I have always adopted dogs that were already "fixed" and I wondered if it makes them less agressive or whatever.  Glad you like your top.  I ordered a second sweater (D&C) cardigan after I loved the first one.  The first one is shades of blue and this one is shades of brown, etc.  I may wear it this morning.

Now that we are three hours different than the East Coast, it is even harder to keep things straight.  It is a nice day here, and I plan to walk to church.

Barbara -- we did not get to Rocky Point, but we went to Guaymas (near San Carlos) on our trip, and it was very lovely.  I understand it is about a 5 1/2 hour drive from here, and I think I'd rather walk across into Mexico and take a first-class bus than drive.  Getting in and out of Mexico (particularly out) was quite a hassle.  On the way in, they stopped the bus and we had to go through some luggage screening.  Unfortunately, it was windy, cold, and there was some rain.  Later, we had to stop for Mexican Visas, and they ran out of forms (there were 38 of us on the bus.)  There is no charge for the Visas if you will be there less than a week, but you are supposed to get one and it takes time.  On the way home, it took over two hours to get back into the U.S.  Mostly just traffic -- the agents were nice and quick, but there were long lines.

Guess I better get ready for church now.  Waves to Fran, Bonnie, Sandy, Jules, Hippo, and all of our posters and readers.  Hope you have a very good day.

Hugs, Linda

Linda, the dogs may calm down a bit. I don't think GN ever calmed down much though.  It also protects them from a type of cancer. It was part of the sales agreement from the breeder. Around TT I usually wear older clothes. By next fall I ought to be able to get my sweaters and wraps out to wear.

It sure sounds like a hassle getting in and out of Mexico. When we took the senior center Gettysburg trip we really didn't feel comfortable though that may have been because we didn't know people.  We may take another trip as it saves us from driving. There is a Canadien trip this fall and I think Charleston/Savannah maybe next spring. I just need to persuade Rod.

I am enjoying daylight savings time. It is so nice to have it still light in the early evening. I did make sure though to tell Whitney to change the clocks.

Adam should be home from reserve in a couple hours. Peek the cat has been talking loudly all week complaining his boy is gone.

chprsp1268668918.764525 PostsRegistered 9/5/2007

Good morning!

TT is at the vet. It took Adam to get him in the car. He's one of our few dogs that doesn't like to ride (he and Sam both). Hopefully he'll be glad to go home tomorrow and hop right in. Sam isn't sure where his buddy went.

Day by day my back and shoulder seem to be better. I wish I could hurry it up though.

I talked to Whitney this morning. She said it was so windy last night she had trouble keeping the car on the road. Bryan seems to be doing well. She plans on cutting green construction paper into leprechaun footprints and making a trail through the house for Dylan Wednesday.

Have you heard any more from your daughter Linda?

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Our mail just arrived along with an item I won on ebay- a Royal Doulton jug commemorating the Queen's coronation to add to my collection. Just beautiful.

LindaLatte1268671137.8475293 PostsRegistered 8/16/2007

Thanks for getting us started Claudia.  Hope things go well for TT.  Congratulations on your eBay purchase.  No word yet from DD, but I'll be sure to let you know if I hear anything from her.  Today is DH's birthday, so we will probably go out to dinner to celebrate.  Nothing else exciting planned.  I need to make another batch of chocolate chip cookies for him -- his favorites.  Some of the people on the tour were nice, and it was kind of nice having everything taken care of by someone else.  But, I think we will probably hold off on that type of trip for a while.  I'm certainly glad we went to Mexico last week rather than this week with all the violence that is going on.

Waves to Bonnie, Cheryl, Fran, Hippo, Sandy, Barbara and all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Hugs, Linda
