Where do you purchase your cashmere sweaters (for women)?

Started 1352842372.077 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1352998442.73 by depglass

Looking for a longish style cardigan and would love the expert views of the board members!

I had purchased Precious Fibers in the past and was pretty happy. Same with Land's End but don't care as much for the product as I did a few years ago. Also have made purchases at Macy's when they have their "cashmere-o-rama" at the holidays.

Now I am stumped. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Lord & Taylor has been my cashmere stop for the last few years.

I agree that many of the cashmere out there has gone down in quality. Ann Taylor, Lord & Taylor and Brooks Brothers cashmeres are still nice and I really like the one sweater I bought from Isaac.

Isaac was saying he was the only source on QVC that was all cashmere--glad to hear that you thought it was good quality.

We don't have L&T in our area but I sure can look online. Thanks for the recommendations.

It is pricey but very very high quality. I have the fisherman sweater from a couple of years ago. I just remembered that I also have his turtleneck dress which cost a fraction of another that I tried on from a VERY high end designer with very similar quality.

I think you will be pleased with the quality. Check reviews as, for some reason, the quality seems to differ from one pieces to the next.

I have cashmere sweaters from Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor and Talbots. NM has good sales during January! Talbots is having a 30% off sale on everything now.

Best time to buy is right after Christmas or January when the stores want to move out the sweaters. Bloomingdales or Lord/Taylor are good choices,

Amazon has a HUGE selection....but seeing as I have a bunch of cashmere sweaters that I've never worn, I'm trying to resist....

Forgot to mention J. Crew in my earlier post. They have many different styles and colors.

Oh how I miss PF cashmere- especially from the early years it was offered on the Q- back when the letters QVC actually meant something. Thank goodness I am still wearing them. They are my winter "uniform" along with jeans or pants, both casual and dressy.

I did buy 2 beautiful cashmere wraps last Black Friday (50% off) at Talbots. I agree with an earlier poster to shop Black Friday, Cyber Monday or post-Christmas for the best deals. IM's cashmere looks very good, but it's a bit rich for my budget.

This is a Japanese owned company "Uniqlo" (on the web @ uniqlo.com) - they have a USA Flagship store in Manhatten 5th Ave.

Considering my 1st online purchase, therefore can not review quality, etc. BUT the prices are extremely reasonable. Many styles & colors that you normally don't see in primo woolens.

check it out.....

I usually get cashmere at LastCall.com. They are a Neiman Marcus store. Their outlet. I got some real nice, quality cashmere last year on sale. They were originally 198. They weren't the cream of the crop, but they were quality. I bought them out the door 48 dollars. They have great sales all the time. You have to watch. They will have 30 to 40% off sale price and that is when the biting is good.

I bought long sleeve turtle neck in Brown, Black and gray. I bought a cashmere, black cardigan with cashmere small roses on the label area. So cute

Another recommendation for Neimans and Lord and Taylor. But the new kid on the block for me is the Pure Collection! More expensive than either Neimans or Lord and Taylor but even higher quality. And they are always having a sale going on. They are based in the UK but have a US distribution.

This makes me miss Lord & Taylor down here. It was my "go-to" place back north. I've been lucky at Macy's down here for nice cashmere tops.

Pure Collection out of England. You can order from their website and their 100% sustainable cashmere is the best I've ever worn. I have very sensitive skin and cannot wear most cashmere in the stores but this is top quality with no scratchiness whatsoever. I've been collecting them for a few years now and my older ones look as good as my new ones. I've never been disappointed in any piece and their scarves are divine. I've given several as gifts over the years and every person started ordering from them once the got theirs. HTH :)

I've found gorgeous cashmere sweaters in kohl's and in marshall's and all for great affordable prices too. Beautiful colors and designs, long & not so long. I'd go to either of these two stores if I were in the market.

Lord and Taylor. If you don't have a Lord and Taylor in your area you can shop on line. They always have wonderful sales on their cashmere sweaters at this time of the year.

I just saw some in Kohls (on sale). They looked nice...not that thin see-thru type.

www.Lastcall.com is having a 40% off sale price now! I just bought a sweater yesterday. Pure sounds good too, I will have to look it up. I thought I saw some items at Nordie's?

I guess I'm never buying one. They seem so thin for the price, you can see right through them when they show on QVC.
