Orange dress--what color shoes???

This is a dress I just scored at my local Saks outlet ($38!!!) Anyway---I'm going to wear it to a wedding that's not formal--in the pic it looks really dressy, but it's a stretchy fabric, so it's not quite as fancy as it might appear. I just love it! I'm not too fond of the black shoes with it--and my sis said that alot of people are wearing "flip flops" cause the ceremony is on the beach..What do you guys think of gold wedgy sandals?? I already have them. If not, what color/type of shoe would you suggest??

Yes, gold or nude-I would go with nude.

Wish it, dream it. dare it, do it!

no pic but from reading your OP I was just about to type the same as Liz...

I second gold or nude...

Be sure it's something you can walk on the beach with or easily remove if necessary...

Please try to post the pic again...

Bronze would be cute. Even silver, pink or blue.

Orange is such a bright color, I wouldn't go with a shiny gold shoe. I'd say a nude/neutral/bone or maybe a subdued bronze.

I wore my orange leather skirt with a dark brown knit top last Sunday and had on dark brown strappy high heels and matching bag. Kind of fall looking come to think of it.

Silver or bronze would look really cute. Please, stay away from black shoes epecially because it's on the beach.

Gold...of course.

I have some nude pumps I bought last spring and dont' know what I did without them...they are what I reach for when I have something that is a bright or different color than I have shoes....if you could find a nude sandal I would go with that but it may be hard this time of year depending on where you live....otherwise your gold sandals sound like they would be fine.

I can't see the dress, but I like browns with orange. A gold or bronze would probably look great. I think black is probably too stark.

Cute dress! I think nude shoes would be perfect, but I also love the idea of gold.

For a beach wedding, gold sandals would be perfect.

SarahW: You ROCK as usual!

That dress is CUTE! I would do nude, but gold could look cute (or gladiator, so careful of the style just because of the cut of the dress/shoulder), too. Since the dress doesn't scream Fall to me (mainly due to the style), I would keep it on the lighter side with the shoe - plus, it is on the beach.

When is the wedding, and do you live in year round warm climate? Agree with "no black"--too halloweeny. Like the nude suggestions. You have the gold wedgy sandals...think that would be fine too. As another said though, since you'll be on sand, think of that too. Are the ones you have old enough they've seen their day? If there is a threat of rain, is there a back up plan?

Thanks to everyone-but you've thought of it all!! I agree that black will look too much like halloween! I tried my gold sandals on and yes, they are older but really pretty but I don't mind if they get messed up a bit. Threat of rain--I hope they have a plan!!! I don't!! I guess my bright yellow raincoat--and I do have a pair of those cute rubber boots that have yellow, orange and pink vertical stripes (LOL) This couple is extremely artsy and different, they'd probably think that was cool! Here's the big problem--my sister (mom of groom) changes the "gameplan" every other day! First it was very casual (shorts, etc) then more dressy, then "business casual" now it's dressy, but everyone's wearing thong sandals...

Basically the bride and groom are like "oh--whatever" but I know he's wearing a suit and she's wearing a gown and she has a little group of "princesses" so it's a bit fancy..I saw my sis's dress--definitley Mother of Groom style--(well, traditionally speaking--even down to the little bolero!) Mine isn't quite as dressy, but man, I love that dress ( Never thought I could wear an off-the-shoulder anything! It's so unrevealing that it's sexy (if you know what I mean-- and not clingy at all!) --, casual or not--I'm wearing that!!!! Thanks for all the advice

PS--the wedding is Saturday-in Connecticut--could be freezing my butt off--again, no plan for what to do about that either!!! LOL
