QUESTION RE: ORDERING ELECTRONICS FROM AMAZON

I am in the market for new computer equipment. I am concerned about ordering anything from Amazon based on their return policy:

You may return any new computer purchased from Amazon.com that is "dead on arrival," arrives in damaged condition, or is still in unopened boxes, for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Does that mean I can't OPEN the box to see whether I am pleased or not? Am I interpreting this incorrectly? Who would buy/return something if they can't even open the box to look at it?

Can you share your experience. Thank you!

Re: QUESTION RE: ORDERING ELECTRONICS FROM AMAZON

No, it doesn't mean you can't open the box. It means if it's damaged or dead on arrival (doesn't work right out of the box) or you don't open it because you changed your mind, you can get a full refund. If it's open and you don't like it, you pay a restocking fee just like most, if not all, B&M stores.

Re: QUESTION RE: ORDERING ELECTRONICS FROM AMAZON

I buy tablets, etc from Amazon , but no computers. I do not buy electronics from any third party vendor. The best place to buy a computer is Dell, HP, or Toshiba from their online sites.
