my sons ps3 just died......he was thinking of getting the ps4, BUT, the ps4 doesnt play any of the ps3 games, so he is going to buy another ps3 (or ask for it for christmas!).

I doubt if it will be here this year. QVC is typically a year or two behind and if reports are accurate there's apt to be a shortage of consoles and QVC won't be a preferred vendor, so they even less likely to get them. Next year they should have them though.

That lack of backwards compatability is a pain for existing Sony owners. You need all new games and controllers for the PS4. With games and controllers retailing for $60 each that $400 console starts to look a lot more like a $700 investment just to get a spare controller or two, and three or four games. That's starting to get pretty pricey. I prefer Nintendo's backwards compatibility where the Wii U plays every Wii game and also uses all of their old controllers.
