Any suggestions before I head into the store( hour away) I tried deleting contact and reentering it,deleting previous text to said person, checked if I was blocked,no luck. When I hit text some come up blue, they work.and some come up green they do not. I am a new smart phone user my last one was 10 yrs old, so talk to me like I'm a 5 yr old ;-) Thanks so much!
Sometimes my iPad won't send if it has been disconnected from the WIFI here in the house. Since my phone is always connected, it doesn't happen when I use my 5.
I didn't come here to argue.- Peg Bracken
Agree with Bogey - it wont say delivered if sent and green - and it may not be instantaneous like the blue messages.
Also dont use emoticons for the "green People" Some of my recipients say this encrypts the message.
Have you shut off your I Message ? Go into settings scroll down to messages. I message should be on. MMS on Group on
Hi all thanks for responding,I know they aren't receiving them because a red ! Comes up and says not received .yes did the settings,so frustrating, thanks to all hope to hear more of you out there with more suggestions if not of to the store I go.
it must be a bug due to some app i guess
When you are trying to send the text are you also on wifi or LTE? If you turn off wifi or LTE do you still have the problem? I found a forum discussion about this problem and it seems to be more common on Sprint.
That sounds like a problem with your carrier. Sorta like a all circuits are busy thing. Which carrier do you have? Also, what carrier are the people that are not receiving your texts have? Is it more than one carrier for different people?

Things like this can be very frustrating Melting..I can relate. I agree with mcall..You might check with your carrier before making the hour trip to the Apple Store (or try calling Apple)..Hopefully your carrier location is closer.
If I can't be kind..I won't say it at all!
There are two types of text messages on the iphone. One kind uses the internet/wi-fi (blue) and the other kind uses the cellular waves (green). If you are successfully texting blue messages, then that means your internet is fine and the person you are texting- their internet is good too. Blue messages are free and your phone company doesn't charge. But if you can not text your green messages, it means something is wrong with your phone company or maybe you're in a bad part of town with a bad signal. Or maybe you have exceeded your phone plan's number of texts you can send.
Life is delicious.
iMessage can sometimes be a bear to activate for all your iPhone buddies. The best way I've found to make sure you don't get the red exclamation mark meaning that a message has not been successfully sent is to make sure you have the recepient's Apple ID in your contact entry for them.
Make sure they have both a phone number and their Apple ID activated to receive iMessages.
This link will give you more info on setting up both iMessage and FaceTime.
