Does the call eventually ring through to your vm?

You could test it out by calling your cell phone with your landline (one headset in each ear), then decline the call on your cell phone and see what you hear on your landline headset.

I'm pretty sure it just goes to your VM so, no, don't think they would have any idea.

Great idea CB. A declined call goes to voicemail, so the person calling would have no idea.

Is decline the same as ignore?

No, they wouldn't know you were ignoring them...they may just think you were not by the phone. Believe me, if there was a way for the people that call me to know that I was simply ignoring them then I would probably have very little friends. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

The rejected call will go to your VM as you already know, but if you don't return the call/message they will figure it out sooner or later, just sayin' :)

I have an iPhone (love it) and it goes to voice mail if I don't answer it. Lots of times I get a call and see who it is and if busy just call them back when I get a chance.

That is exactly what happened. When I did not respond to several calls from a number I did not recognize, that individual started text-stalking me.

Yikes! Do you have the ability to completely BLOCK certain phone numbers? Sounds potentially scary. I think I would document everything regarding this individual and save, or print out (whatever you can do - I don't know as I don't text) everything and keep a file. Hope it's just harmless and goes away soon!

I always answer a number I don't know, to simply say "sorry wrong number" End of call.

.

Or, are you saying this person IS trying to contact You and is text-stalking you?

Be kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

I do not know the person who was calling me. Very few people have my cell phone number, and it was not one of them. I assumed it was a telemarketer. When I did not answer the phone call, I started getting text messages instead. I did not respond to any of these so I think they just got bored and stopped.

A couple of times I've had someone call and text me, thinking I was their boyfriend. When I didn't respond, the texts started getting crazy nasty and increased in frequency. She accused me (him) of having an affair. I texted a few times and said "Wrong number" but the texts continued. I even texted once and said, "I don't know who you are and you have the wrong number. Quit texting me!" but it didn't stop. Eventually, she just quit. Super frustrating!

Remember, cellphone numbers are recycled (given put again) and you might be getting msgs and texts meant for someone else. Especially if not many people have your number.

I have received what read like important text msgs at times meant for someone else. I have texted back stating they did not reach the party their msg was intented for and I always receive a thank you text back. Common courtesy.

Yes, you can block a number from calling/texting you if a problem arises...
