HSN today.

Sounds too good to be true.

Anybody have recommendations for or against?

TIA.

Yes, I purchased the lg triple for my daughter, last time it was on special. She loves it..it doesn't drop calls..and it is a great deal. I just ordered one for myself, tired of paying a fortune for my sprint phone. Hope this helps. Oh.. and the quality of calls is better than my sprint optimus.

I have it from the last HSN special. It is working well for me. I've had a situation where I've used way more minutes than I usually do. Glad I had the triple minutes. Haven't had a single dropped call.

I just watched the presentation....thinking of purchasing it...I do way more texting then talking on the phone....(neither while I am driving).....is the texting good...is it easy...???

I have a Verizon contract that is due to end soon.....I pay $46.00 monthly...but hardly ever use the phone for calls....maybe five minutes a month....I pay extra for unlimited texting...so this LG sounds good to me....

The woman presenter said it was AT&T or T-Mobile connection.....on another thread some posters said AT&T wasn't any good...that is my concern....

I bought this phone from HSN last year and it is the best prepaid phone I have ever had. I love how easy it it to text. The triple minutes are a plus. It was very easy to set-up and I transferred my previous Tracfone phone number and minutes to this easily. It is the exact phone I have as well as my daughter and sister-in-law both own and love.

I bought the extra set of skins for it also. They are non slip and very nicely made perfect for the phone. The screen is very clear and the sound is adjustable on the side of the phone.

There is an extra number to call for the extra minutes and you should activate the phone within 60 days. You get triple minutes for life with 1200 minutes and an extra 300 minutes when you call the special number enclosed. The camera is decent also. The camera is very user friendly and the keypad for texting is so much bigger than most cell phones.

I used some of my extra minutes to download some of my favorite songs for ringtones. I only used the internet for that as when you receive a text after downloading the ringtones it goes through the internet to complete the transaction. It just deducts minutes and no extra cost. It is different amounts depending on the songs you pick for the minutes but not much. The phone is also very easy to use. There is a site for the LG800G that has tutorials that walk you through screen by screen. You can't make a mistake and you can find what you need easily.

Just type in Trafone LG Tutorials. Open Tracfone Forums and LG 800G tutorial.

I know you would enjoy it. I would replace mine with the same phone if anything happened to mine as I am very pleased. Tracfone has service every place I have ever used it and no dropped signals. I have used Tracfone for over 10 years and am very satisfied and never had a problem.

I also bought this phone the last time it was a TS on HSN. It's great and you can't beat the deal of triple minutes for life. I just started texting when I got this phone and love it. I never had an I Phone or fancy cell phone so I can't compare, but this has all the features I need.

I too am curious about this phone. I'm primarily interested in being able to get on the internet and texting. I was wondering how the minutes work?

The rep said 1500 "talk" minutes

equals 4500 texts or

3000 internet minutes.

I have tracfone and have no problems. Upgraded to "querty" phone last Today's Special. Thinking of getting this one, but still have 1600 minutes. I wouldn't have to activate it for 2 months.

You wouldn't have to buy any minutes for one year, and minutes rollover, so you never lose them.

The price is worth it just for the minutes.

Also the coverage is everything AT&T + T-Mobile has.

Is there a separate monthly charge for a "data plan"?

I've had this for a couple of weeks and so far I like it. I find it very user friendly. I purchased mine directly from the Tracfone site for 39.99. It came with triple minutes for life and a charger. I just ordered a glare free screen protector and a TPU skin for $18 on another site. Check it out.

I see that on Tracfone's site.

Other than the price, what's the difference between that and the HSN offer?

I only see it for $50 & double minutes @ tracfone.com. And only 20 minutes included. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

On home page, several scroll across the screen. It's the LG 800G -- says web exclusive $39.99. Then on 'details' for that phone, it says triple minutes in red.

Thanks Maggie. Not avail in my zip code if ordered thru Tracfone site but IS avail thru HSN. Not sure why the difference but @$99 thru HSN, still a deal for me. I need a spare phone to back up my ST main cell for business. Great deal for those who can buy thru TF directly. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} I ordered thru HSN.

Strange...It shows $49.99 for the LG800G triple minutes deal when I put in my zip code?

Thanks for this thread............... Bestdressed, yes $49.99 for me too in my zip code.........

I'm so interested in this deal................ So tired of contracts & mine is about to expire & I don't want to be locked into AT&T for another two yrs...............

I've been with AT&T for over 10yrs & I'm paying a hefty sum............... Time for me to get out................. This Tracfone deal seems the way to go................

I don't have that particular phone, but got a different one a few months ago when it was an HSN Today's Special. I am happy with the service because I use a cell phone very very little. However, if you use a cell phone a lot, like most people, then this isn't a good deal. Think how many minutes a month you normally use.

Also, as I read Tracfone's website, if you use the phone for Internet, in other words, like a Smartphone is intended to be used, you eat up your minutes REAL fast. A talk minute is a real minute, but a data minute is like three talk minutes. Look, I do not use any data and no texting, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the information. I just want to caution you to be informed on how the minutes are counted. I concluded that if I wanted a Smartphone for its intended purpose, then Tracfone was NOT the way to go.

In terms of coverage, that of course will vary by location. I'm in an area of Texas where Verizon is not very strong. My Tracfone runs on AT&T lines and I'm getting better coverage than I did with my Verizon phone. But as I understand it, in the crowded northeast, people have problems with ATT.

The carryover minutes...minutes being good for one year...is what attracted me to Tracfone.

Sonia: Thanks for the info.............. I do lots of texting & use the internet on my cell......... So your comments are appreciated.............. I do need internet access for work & personal.............. But anything has to be better than what I'm doing now.....................

The only reason I'm considering this is to have a qwerty keyboard for texting. With my current flip phone, I have to punch a button 4 times to get an S, 3 times to get an I. You get the idea.

I use a cell phone quite minimally -- have a prepaid plan now so I'm not spending much. Not accustomed to email and internet on a phone. Doubt I'd use that much due to preferring laptop for those.

Is there some way to have both phones activated until I decide if I like the new one better?

The plan on the Tracfone site for this phone only comes with 20 minutes of starter airtime, you still need 'service'.

The lowest airtime/service days card is $99 for 365 days of service & 400 minutes (which would triple to 1200 minutes).

I've had this phone for a couple months through Tracfone. Starting Sunday it is on sale in Target for $39. Comes with triple minutes. The 20 min. is to give you time to set up your phone but when i got that it was tripled too and I got extra days added on. We called the rep to activate because we needed to transfer minutes and time also from another phone. You can keep your original cell number too. Also, for texting it does have the qwerty board but for those even challenged by that here's a good thing - you can print out letters, numbers and all that with your finger and it will turn that into a printed message. It's under "handwriting" in the message center.

Yes, it is because you get 365 days of service plus 1500 minutes instead of 20.

I've used Tracfone for several years now and yearly I have been buying the 365 service days/400 double minutes for $99 every year.

This HSN deal is like getting the phone free, plus triple minutes instead of just double.

I've never bought anything from HSN before, but I bought this phone.Wink

I was interested but in the end I prefer straighttalk. I have a smartphone and am able to get unlimited everything for $45 a month. Much cheaper than the contract prices and a good selection android smartphones to boot.
