LG Tracfone is this any good one???

I would like a new tracphone. I think it is better to buy a new phone than keep adding minutes month by month. HSN has a LG touch screen phone. Does anyone have this. The ladies of the form talked me out of the Samsung they had on last time. They talked about the browser button losing minutes. You ladies are always helpful. Hope this one is better.

I purchased the LG touchscreen tracfone when it was a today's special in July and they had triple minutes. I'm very happy with it. AT&T is the provider - not as good coverage as Verizzon where I live, but it is way cheaper to use. simple to get minutes either online or on the phone. I'm also able to make international calls to my Mom for the same price as local calls - big plus for me. I don't use the phone for testing or anything other than making calls so for me it works just fine.

thank you UKgirlinNY. I have a LG phone now with 700 minutes but I don't know what provider I have. I think I can move my minutes over to this phone.

It looks like it is a LG800G so it should run off of AT&T. Usually any of the phones ending in G run off of AT&T and the ones that end in C are Verizon. HTH!!

thank you jones96. My last phone was a LG420G so, I should have no trouble.

I'm seriously considering this phone that HSN will be offering at midnight (I think it's tonight). I want a touchscreen phone but don't want a big phone plan contract like my family members have. I currently have a simple Net10 phone which works well but trying to send a text is so hard and takes me so much time I could mail a letter faster. THis HSN phone has a keyboard feature, so I should be able to text faster. Plus with the touchscreen and nice colors I'll look like I'm "hip, cool, groovy"( LOL!)

I purchased this LG phone over a year ago when it was a TSV with free double minutes. I ported my Verizon number over with very easy instructions from a technician and have been very satisfied with the reception, coverage area, etc. LOVE not having a bill every month!!

I also bought the LG Tracfone when it was a TS in July. Love this phone. I just got close to using up my 1200 initial minutes and bought another 1000 and was thrilled I got triple minutes for life so now have over 3000. I just can't see spending $40-$50 or more every month and being stuck with a contract. This phone and plan works great for me.

Do you think this will this be the price at midnight or will it be lower?

Me too.....nice phone and also purchased as a TSV...can't believe its been since July I owned it...wow, the time goes fast.

....and maybe it's just me, but this one seems to hold a charge longer than my previous Motorola "throw away" phone.

Like yourself, I believe in getting the new phones in lieu of paying for more time. This last one I am currently using is the LG that came with 1200 minutes and triple minutes for life. I bought this for myself and my mother-in-law for $89.95, and it came with all the chargers needed including a carry case, which I don't suppose many use.

I don't know right off hand the model number of the one I am using, but I have been using TracFone for many years now. Once hsn started offering this cheap deals with all the chargers etc, and all the minutes? I couldn't buy a year of time for much less than $100. I got my unused minutes transferred over, and they also added another 3 months to my time, for a total of 15 months to use them. For me this comes out to less than $7.50 per month, and this phone has everything I would ever want in a phone including a good camera.

Mine is not a Smart Phone and is not a touch screen. My wife has an LG Smart Phone with the touch screen and all of that stuff, but it is not with TracFone, and I can't remember the carrier it came with, also from hsn. This phone however was nowhere near the $89.95 I paid for the 2 I purchased.

I've got one on order. This will be my last one. I've been with them since they're started. My old LG starting to give from HSN I have that over year now. My service is good for 2012. With this one it goes to 2013 along with 4,300 minutes. Makes a good business phone since the minutes are so low. I am just transfering my number to this new one and that's it!

I LOVE this tracfone. I have it from earlier in the year right after it was released. That earlier one had a glitch in the software and some people had problems with multi texting, etc. there was a big thread here about that. But that was fixed long ago and it's gotten great reviews since. I am so jealous because my package didn't include the car charger and had only one case. I was a previous tracfone customer and it took literally a few minutes with a customer service rep to set up the new phone and move my number over. This is NOT a smart phone, and works best with someone who doesn't use a lot of minutes. It has a great 2 MP camera which is very hard to find at this price AND it takes videos, both of which you can text to folks. Also they haven't shown the keyboard to text with, but it has a keyboard option AND you can even WRITE with your finger ON the screen and it reads basic script for texting too. Which is amazing for a little phone like this. There is even a doc reader that will read word docs tucked in there. I think the website prepaid phone reviews.com did a big review of the lesser known features. Also the touch screen is very responsive, but it's not an iPhone ;). You can also add a 4 GB mini sd card, which is what I did, and store plenty of ringtones, music and so on. I get plenty of free and spam free ringtones and graphics from 'mytinyphone.com' website. No advanced features like GPS but the web browsing is good enough to get directions of the web to drive, check and read my email, and check weather, etc. And did everyone catch how this has inexpensive plans for calling outside the country? And I think you can even get a native tracfone number for Mexico or Canada so your relatives and friends in Mexico and Canada can call a local number when they call you in the states. I can't say enough about this deal, it's the real thing and I would get another in a heartbeat if I needed more minutes or another phone. Again, this is not intended for someone who wants apps, a smartphone or burns through 400 minutes a month. It's for us lighter users.

Mt DH has a Motorola touch screen smartphone we bought directly from Tracfone, very nice, he loves it.

I currently have Tracfone with a Samsung phone w/double minutes for life. I actually would like extended time to use the minutes rather than more minutes since I don't use the phone a lot and never use up the minutes. The Samsung is quite nice (not a touch screen) however I thought I'd upgrade since I'm due to add more minutes. Think I'll check out the Tracfone website.

I have an LG Tracfone which I've had for almost three years. I've never had a problem with it. It runs off AT&T which is definitely not a problem in my rural area as AT&T is the big provider in my immediate area. I'm considering this phone but am not really sure I would like a touch screen.

The phone with triple minutes is available at the Tracfone website gor around $59. I currently have 1800 minutes on my current phone good for another year. I use mine primarily for emergency, travel, etc. so I'm not a big user. When the time is nearing, I just add a few minutes to extend the time and let the minutes roll over.

I bought the Lg 800 this summmer. Phone works great but the browser keeps coming on when it gets moved around in my purse and the buttons ar very small. Do you the think the touch screen would be a better buy? I believe I heard them say that you could buy another trac phone and roll over your unused minutes.

I was thinking about getting one but the only problem that I have is that I still have mins on my phone. It is one that I had to put time on it every month with one of the prepaid cards it is thru verizon and the service is bad. I cannot make a phone call at my job. I have to go outside and do it. Is the reception good. I wished that I posted this earlier.

Thanks

To roll over the minutes, you call customer service at Tracfone to activate the phone, transfer the phone number from old phone to new one and to roll over the minutes.

If you have one of the 800 phones that keeps turning on the browser (accidentally bumping the browser button when it is in your purse or pocket, etc), just turn on the key lock feature. I have that phone, and I like it.

I think I like the one that is a TSV today better, but I'll stay with the one I have for now and hope that they offer another touch screen around the time I my minutes expire. I like these trachfone packages because I rarely use my cellphone and have no need for an contract phone. I was very glad I had it when my power was out for 4 days!

Prepaidphoneguy.com is the one who did many extensive articles on the LG 800G, also there are videos on you tube which show the keyboard. I use my fingernail to press the screen and it's very precise. http://www.pbush14.com/2011/04/18/lg-800g-review/ ... Start there. At the top of the page he has some additional links. Also if your are transferring from an older tracfone, your minutes will roll over to the new phone.

Thanks, Konakat & iam4truth. I was wrong about the model ....it is Lg 500, not Lg 800, but I think your advice still holds correct.

Can someone tell me if the time will roll over also? I bought a 1 year card around June 1st. I sure don't want to lose 6 mos. of time! i ordered it this morning, but can cancel if the "days left" won't transfer to the new phone. Thanks in advance{#emotions_dlg.scared}

Yes! It will transfer days and minutes. It did so with my new tracfone earlier this year. I am now pushed out until 2013 or some crazy date in the future. And all my minutes rolled over too.

Thanks ladies with all your input. I ordered this phone. You all seemed to like this phone better than the Samsung. Sooo glad I waited. Thanks again.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
