When did Amazon add a "author's page"?

I am so excited about this. My biggest complaint about the kindle app was the inability to find out about new releases by my favorite authors. With the addition of the "author's page" it is now a piece of cake. kudos to Amazon.

They've had them for at least two years. I know this because I had one when I was a semi-finalist in the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. They have an Author Central where writers can create their author page and detail the information on it. I don't think it was even new then. It's probably been around for longer than that.
