Started 1351069957.06 in eBook Club | Last reply 1351909625.587 by JazzyP83

I was able to get it to appear last week when I pressed "Menu" but now I can't bring the page number up.

Any suggestions????

TIA

How dou you mean that? 1 Can not find the actual option to go to a certain page or 2.) Having the Page Number/Location shown at the bottom?

Not all books have page numbers, it's up to the publisher.

I want the actual page number to show at the bottom.

I thought all ebooks had the page number because I had them show up with another book I finished. I did not know that some books don't have the page numbers. That must be the problem I thought I had.

When I start another book I'll see if it gives the page numbers.

Thank you for your advice.

All my books have page numbers on the bottom of my Kindle. They don't make any sense to me though, never have.

It's not like 1, 2, 3 etc. It's like 345/1298. ???????

Respectfully ~
Kate

big sister, I just learned how to find the page number on my Kindle Keyboard just today!!!!! How lucky for you Wink

While you're on the page in your book, click on MENU. At the bottom it will show exactly what page you're on and how many pages are in the book. This will only work if you're in the book (not on the Home Page).

I have so much to learn on here. Maybe we can learn together {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

My basic Kindle (which is a lot like the keyboard, I think) shows page numbers (example: page 1 of 407) and locations (example: location 428 of 7847). My Kindle Fire only shows locations. And coldlake is right, not all Kindle books have been given page numbers but I think they all show locations. As sunny said, you have to be within the book (click on menu) for page numbers to show, if available.

My basic Kindle also has a line at the bottom that shows your progress as you read the book. And there are dots that represent the next chapter so you can tell how close you are to the next chapter. Not sure if the kindle keyboard has this feature. It's very small and hard to see, though. I didn't realize it was there for the longest time.

sunala, I have tried that and all I get is the location number and the line across that shows how far I am into the book. On a previous book I was able to get the page number by clicking on MENU while I was reading, but it doesn't show with my current book. I would love to learn along with you; there are things I have not used yet and don't know what they do and I'm hesitating to click on them because I may not be able to get back to the page I was reading. Thanks for your feedback. What Kindle do you have?

smokymtngal, on the current book I am reading, when I click on MENU I only get the location, but not the page number. Mine does give the line at the bottom. It may be that with my next book it will give me the page number. At least I know that I'm doing anything incorrectly. Thank you for your feedback.

So, I guess the answer is that not all books have the page number feature. I guess the book I learned on had the feature, but bigsister's doesn't.

Like you, I also don't want to mess around with the features for fear I'll change the settings and mess things up {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Good luck!

When you buy a book under the description it will tell you if it has "Actually Page Numbers". Atleast you will know ahead of time.

Damitas, thank you for that info. I was not aware of it and I will definitely check it out.

I do know that when you read the description page, where you click on BUY, it does tell us the number of pages in the book and readers' reviews, which I always check out.

I just started the third book in a series and it does not give me the page number but it does have the "locatiion."

GrannySherry, you're very welcome! I don't know all that much about the Kindle Keyboard yet, but I'm slowly learning.

I love to be able to share my limited knowledge with others. Enjoy! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Just an FYI, the kindle fire does not currently support page numbers.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}
