Not shipping to Canada? I think this may be the beginning of the end for the q. They can't compete with other people who offer free shipping or free shipping with $50 purchase. I don't buy anything from the q anymore.

Have you looked at zappos.com, macys, nordstrom? I shop on amazon, drugstore.com, etc. everyone has better deals than qvc.

I would have thought they would bump up shipping costs to Canada as I do see that on other retail websites. But no shipping at all seems extreme and a poor business choice. Sorry to hear it.

This might be too expensive. You can get a mailbox at a UPS store in the states - I think they will forward packages to you.

I wish Zappos ship to canada and they did at one time but also stopped it. Certainly Macys does and amazon I think does as well. and of course ebay!! Your right, better prices everywhere else anyway. I just really like the AS IS Deals.

i wonder if this is tied to the returns issue mentioned on the qvc forum? shipping has been a mess with the q for a few yrs now.

Zappos doesn't ship there? Sorry, I guess I'm not very much help.

I am curious to see what others suggest.

I suggest seeing if this might work, too.

I don't use a UPS one & don't know what they charge, but I get all my mail sent to a private post office box. It costs me a little over $100 per year. You would have to consider the cost of forwarding packages & decide if it would be worth the additional cost.

I'm surprised and sorry that QVC has made this decision. It is one thing to never ship somewhere but to do it & then discontinue cutting off so many customers seems unreasonable.

It would be different if they increased the already high shipping charges or were planning to start a QVC Canada, but it has to be a bottom line issue. I guess even inflated shipping charges don't make up the difference or don't allow quite as much of a profit center based on shipping to Canadian destinations. What a bummer for our Canadian neighbors. Odd, isn't it that they run an international operation including the UK, Italy, Germany, and on and on, and yet our closest neighbor with whom we share a common border will no longer be able to order.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I should have my head examined...

Check before you sign up for a PO box and make sure they accept packages/boxes. Many do not.

Definitely check to be sure.

I think most regular PO boxes - at post offices - do not accept packages. Sometimes when buying things I see a note that Fed Ex or UPS will not deliver to PO boxes.

Most private ones accept packages & that is one reason people use them. My packages are always accepted by the owner & he even signs for them if necessary. And I can even call to see if I have mail so I don't waste a trip.

I don't know where you are in Canada, but I ship, and have things shipped to a Post Office in the US that is right across the border from where my nephew lives in Canada. So far, everything has worked out really well, even with large boxes. It may depend on the post office. This is in a very small town and they are very nice.

Yes I would be looking for a post office that excepts boxes near Niagara falls, as we go there ofthen and cross to shop or go to the Seneca Casino there. I think that is Buffalo and Niagara falls NY I think.

Q is going to lose a lot of business by cutting off Canadian shoppers. Don't they still have a QVC Europe? How do they get their items? Surely, someone ships them there.

I know that Q is moving towards H**S**N with their lack of wanting to accept checks as payment. People do not always want to jump in and charge everything. Some people like to think it over for a day or to, and then go back and make their purchase OR decide against it and walk away. If it is a "buy it now OR never" sales pitch, a lot of people I know personally are going to walk away. (These women are power shoppers. Q will lose A LOT of money.)

Something Wonderful Is About To Happen!!!!

Well, it sounds like the OP needs a friend in the USA who would not mind shipping boxes for her. Depending on how much she buys this could be a new hobby for someone who needs a hobby. OP - I suggest you pick someone from Pennsylvania as they do not tax clothing in Pa. It can be a pretty good savings - enough to pay for the additional shipping charges. I still have a Pa. address on my Q account and I bill to / ship to to my Florida address. So it gets billed to my cc and shipped to me in Fl but I get the Pa. tax break.

Very Smart thinking. Even if I got them Shipped to Niagara Falls NY, I can deal with it from there. Just need an address to hold them for me until I can get there.

thanks,

I haven't received this email yet. The timing is a bit ironic though. Last weekend I had to call the Q to say that two auto-ship orders with an expected delivery date of 30 Oct 2012, did not show up. It is coincidental that I had two auto ship orders that were sent on the same day AND that I didn't receive either of them. The customer service rep (very pleasant woman) said it happens from time to time. Perhaps it has been happening a bit TOO often. I did mention to the rep that more often than not, my orders were left between my doors as they deliver when I'm at work. I've ordered many items without a problem until two weeks ago.

I've looked into the U.S. post box but I'm still on the fence. Yes I would initially pay less in shipping but with the Q I don't have to pay duty and I'm wondering if the same can be said with a p.o. box.

To the OP, post offices in the US ( at least in all of the several states I've lived in) accept packages, so I don't understand why another poster would say they don't. Of course, packages would need to be sent via USPS shipping, and that FedEx and UPS ( who are USpS competitors) can't be shipped to PO boxes unless its by FedEx smart post. I live in a border town, and there is a robust traffic of Canadians who have packages shipped here. There is a store here that makes good profit by charging a small fee to CDNs who need an address for their UPS and FedEx packages. There are definitely options available to you. On another note, the Q cannot have a QCanada as TSN holds the TV shopping marketplace and the CDN government is not keen to easily allow US competitors to expand into the country and Americanize it.Last edited on 11/17/2012

Show tune, I'm surprised that you haven't had to pay duty as that charge wouldn't be collected by the Q at time of purchase, but would be tacked on to Canada-bound parcels when they are assessed by Customs at the border (if you happen to be the unlucky recipient of Customs opening your package for inspection). Canada Revenue collects the GST and any applicable duty on the white forms they paste to the side of packages, where they show how much GST you have to pay for your package. I guess you have been lucky if they haven't dinged you for GST, etc.

I am looking into a couple of places just over the border and then my shopping experience will open up quite a bit to include zappos.com and others so my guess is that the Q will loose on this deal, as most other places offer sales. Too bad but good for me!!!!

Hi purseaddiction. I have family and friend in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Canada who shop with QVC serious shoppers!). They have been looking into alternatives for shipment from US. I can't be the sole parcel re-director for them as it may become a full-time job! Can you share what you find? Thanks.
