Dennis Basso Faux Fur Coats

Started 1346016805.6 in Dennis Basso | Last reply 1348421169.5 by westendgal

I would like to see Mr. Basso return with his original faux fur line like he had when he first came to QVC. I'm not interested in his handbags, home accessories. Fur is what he is known for and Fur is what I want to see.

I have never gotten one of his faux fur coats. I'm afraid it will look too bulky on me. But I've got to say, do not sneeze at his home furnishings. I have one of his faux fur throws and I still consider it one of, if not THE best thing I've ever purchased on QVC. I have it on my bed and even keep it there in Summer. It is so so so incredibly soft and rich looking. It was pricey, even as a TSV, but worth every cent. It has made me consider getting one of his faux fur coats.

I have the white tuxedo faux fur coat. OMG ! WoW what a coat. I got mine gee had to be 5 years ago. It is the one that that Kim Cattrell wears in the S*X and the City Movie. So well made . Bring it baaaaaack!

I bought a couple of the full length fur coats and they are very nice and very well made. My issue is I want them longer and his full length coats don't come down long enough for me (and I'm only 5'4").

I tried on a faux mink at the QVC Outlet once, too. It was too die for.

One day he will make coats longer so that they cover most of the leg and keep us warm in winter. I wear skirts and dresses in winter, too. I need my legs covered.

When I found out he was a furrier.. I took my DB coat and donated it to charity...I would never buy another coat from him.... He creeps me out also... Hate to watch him .. And now I have no reason to.{#emotions_dlg.mad}

I wear DB coats all winter - everywhere I go. I've had so many people stop me and ask about the coats. My doctor ordered one for his wife! My hygienist bought one for herself. A woman in the supermarket wanted the item number!

I've been stopped on the street and asked about the coat.

My sister ... my mother ... my nieces ... DB's coats are quite a hit!

I don't know. Consider all the acrylics that will lose their lives to make those coats...

My sister purchased one of his faux furs and it is fabulous!

I actually thought it was a real fur when I saw it and touched it. Very nicely done!

I used to joke llike this myself- but the sale of his faux furs on Q does indirectly (perhaps even directly!) support his real fur business. So I stopped buying them myself.

Saw the black and white tiger coat just now. The model wore it with a black leather skirt, red turtleneck top, and black high heeled pumps. A look that I would love to wear.

I like real fur and if I could afford it, I'd buy that instead of the faux.

For anyone anticipating the purchase of a faux mink.....I ordered one of Basso's faux minks and a Pam McCoy faux mink in the same style (jacket) and color. The McCoy coat was more luxurious, had a more realistic sheen, was softer and the inside was a much nicer finished. Overall, it was a much nicer coat. I returned the Basso coat and kept the SNBC coat.

What about the poor Faux's???? Their pelts are being used by everyone! Poor little faux's!!!

Seriously a relative of mine once thought there were creatures called "Nauga's" and worried about all the "hides" that were being sold several years ago...too fun for the rest of us though!

And before someone accuses me of being heartless and not concerned about the use of real fur products, don't even go there. I wouldn't wear real fur either! BUT I love the faux ones when it's super cold out!

Faux furs are great- and perfect!!- when the sale of the faux furs isn't supporting the sale of the real furs. That's my problem with Dennis. One walk past his Madison Ave store and you get 'that feeling' at the pit of your stomach. I'm no PETA person either- but we all know what goes into making real furs.

I have watched/searched for a DBasso storm coat from a couple of years ago - it was offered i colors (red, blue, etc ) PVC with black faux fur collar & cuffs and a zip out lining -- so practical for various seasons in FL and travel. Please bring it back , Dennis.

I have a couple of DB coats from several years ago. I purchased a P. McCoy coat last year and I like hers better. Last few DB shows, his coats seem to thinner and not the quality of his ealier coats.

I like 3/4 length coats a with hood. For me it serves two functions, warmth and style. I think I look nice with faux fur covering my head.

This is a real dilemma for me. I have a mink coat (from dad, not hubby). I am a real tree-hugging animal person....but when it gets in the 30's here and I am so freezing cold I can't stand going outside, I DO wear the mink.
