I've been wanting to try a Solofil Cup in our Keurig. Does anyone have any favorite grinds/brands that work especially well in it?
I didn't come here to argue.- Peg Bracken
Berres Brothers, I'm drinking it as I type.
Any grind or brand will work fine.
If you get one of the new Solofil units that are called "decaflow", you need to grind the coffee a bit less fine than you would in the older "octaflow" units. The new ones have ten slots in rthe lid and the old ones have eight.
What coffee you use is really a matter of personal taste so it is hard to recommend any bean in particular.
I would start with my favorite beans and go from there.
I have used many different brands and they have all worked well from Folgers to Dunkin Donuts to some wonderful coffee I got when in Honduras, so I guess it's whatever you feel like having! Enjoy!
I have tried so many brands in my solofill and that includes pretty pricey brands like starbucks.I was just not in love with many.I read somewhere about walmart great value dark roast was good. I tried it and have not bought a k cup or other brand of loose coffee since except for the trader Joes New Orleans blend that has chickory in it. I do enjoy that coffee in my solo fill on weekends. But daily I love the walmart dark roast. Had two cups this morning already. It is deep, smooth, and cheap to boot.
I was all excited to try this unit in my Keurig, but did not get the result I was hoping for.
I bought a bag on long awaited Dunkin' Donut coffee and tried it out. Bland... the coffee doesnt stay in the grounds long enough to give it a strong, bold flavor it deserves. I keep it now for making a pot of coffee with my BUNN.
I hope you have better luck than I did. Plus it was messy to clean, after being spoiled with the K-cups!
