Too much $$$ for the Keurig Vue and the Vcups!

Started 1333589929.2 in Coffee Talk | Last reply 1333753085.857 by 4uthebest

Just saw that you have to pull the foil top off in order to recycle the Vcups. To me for the kind of money they want for this machine shouldn't have to be bothered with that just to recycle. While it's not a real big effort, it's just the fact that the whole point of the Keurigs in the first place is convenience and no hassles. This is going to have to come down in price a great deal before I'll consider buying one.

Ok....

FWIW it's a big step for those who do recycle. I'd take the time to use the coffee grounds also. Recycling is an effort and many people don't mind the extra time it takes.

The price is another story.

How hard is it to pull the top off? I have to peel the labels off cans before I put them in the recycle bin too. Perhaps you want them to come with a maid who will do that "hard work" for you?

As for price, that's the way it works when new products are introduced. If you want to be one of the first to own, then you're going to pay a higher price.

I wouldn't mind paying the initial price for the Vue if the cups weren't so darned expensive. The regular k-cups are high enough for me. I sure wouldn't want to pay more than I do now. I refuse to pay over 50 cents a cup, so when I find it for less than that I stock up.

I noticed that as well, and my Keurig is working just fine so I have no need to replace it.

I haven't checked the ingredients on the Latte and Cappucino cups, if it's even available, but I'm betting there is sugar in them, so I won't be buying them anyway.

I have been tempted though to get the Mr. Coffee Cafe Latte machine.

I imagine before long they will have a myVcup. Or solofill and ekowbrew will. I'll pay more for stronger coffee or specialty coffee if I like it enough.

You could buy it for $100 less at the Keurig site with 1475 earned rewards points. I have over 800 points and it has taken me years to get that many. We'll be using our old Keurig for as long as it holds up.

Besides, the Keurig site doesn't have any Vues in stock right now.

I hate strong coffee, but I do love hot coffee. I would never spend $250 on a coffee machine, but I love the Chai Latte flavor!

Can also purchase it for alot less at BBB and no shipping and if it breaks at least there it is a lifetime replacement and thats a good thing when it comes to a Keurig.

Lifetime replacement? I sure hope that is right! LOL They have given me 2 replacements. I wonder how long they will give us replacements? Surely not for life. Here's dreaming though.

If you are talking BB&B there is no limit to # of replacements unless of course the company policy changes OR BB&B goes out of business and I do not see that in the near future..

Is BB&B Bed Bath and Beyond? If so, I didn't buy mine there. I bought mine from QVC and have been getting replacements directly from Keurig.

So Bed Bath and Beyond keeps replacing them? Do they have to have the receipt? Do they replace it if it has been over a year? Just curious.

Mima, another that is not familiar with the policy of BB&B and Kohl's (they raise prices so sale prices are like other stores such as BB&B ) {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} The return policy (they do not have one) basically is that you return for refund or exchange any time with receipt. I purchase all my appliances I can thru them as they are only 6 miles from me and a pleasure to deal with.
