H203164 Luminara taper candles

I don't seem to have much luck with luminara candles lately. I bought two sets of tapers. One candle doesn't work unless I push on the battery door. The other three are clicking like crazy. I know I've read about that here, but haven't experienced it until now. They are sitting flat on a table. Any ideas how to make the clicking go away??

Yes, put them in a box and take them to the post office.

You may get more responses by asking over in Home.

I know with my original BL/Luminara window candles with the oblong bases, I have to tuck small pieces of cardboard, etc. underneath the bases to help make them completely level, which does help with the clicking, but it's a pain. I do have an old house with windowsills that aren't perfect, though. It shouldn't be that difficult for the average person I wouldn't think.
