Best Brand For Biotin

Started 1267045894 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1267073331 by Ilovehummingbirds
Can anyone give me any recommendations for best brands for Biotin if want to take at least 5000mg daily to help nails and hair? I heard Andrews Lessman is good but I would have to take 4 of his Healthy, Skin and Nails for 6000mg, any suggestions? Thanks so much

Biotin is Biotin. I don't see what difference the brand makes. I buy one of two kinds that Walgreens carries - one or the other of them is usually buy one, get one free. Nature's Bounty and another one I can't remember. They are exactly the same ingredients. There are so few side affects from Biotin. Don't count on them to make your nails nice. They do for a lot of people, but didn't help my nails one bit. What they DID do though was help my Ezcema a huge amount! What a nice bonus for me!
Actually, you can get a good deal on them at vitacost.com.

Did they help grow your hair out quickier too? Would u recommend that I go under Vitacost for Biotin or maybe Costco or Sams too? How much do you take? Thanks

ITA, Biotin is fairly generic. As long as the label says each capsule is 5000 mcg Biotin, I think you will be OK.
Personally, I buy all my vitamins and supplements online from Puritans Pride, they always offer great deals.

Walmart has it cheap, maybe 7.00 for a bottle of 120. Its Rexall brand.

PebblesJennaSophie,
Ive used 5,000 and 8,000 mg of Biotin and both work great. The 8,000 is the best and I saw wonderful results quickly.
The brand doesnt matter to me BUT I do make sure its in a CAPSUL and not a rock hard tablet.

What brand is your favorite SoinLove? Do you think by summer, I can get my hair to grow 2-3 inches back to my normal length before cutting 3 inches :-(. I decided to cut my hair for a new look alittle below shoulder but miss my hair down my back.

I don't think this is realistic. Maybe 1 to 1.5 inches by summer.

Thanks Kathy, I wasn't sure how fast hair grows but my hair does grow fast living in AZ especially in the summer so anything by summer will help.

I had to quit taking it because of it making my hair grow too fast. I already pay 200.00 every 7 weeks or so and am not gonna go more frequently.
I began taking it for my nails......They'll have to suffer....LOL

I personally like the Nature's Bounty brand as they are liquigels and really get into your system..Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. always have a buy 1 get 1 each week with their different brands of vitamins...check them out...can't go wrong..

Gosh Pebbles....Not sure of the milligrams, but it was one capsule a day. 200mg, maybe. I remember being told it was a "small" dose.

Biotin is one of the cheapest supplements. It didn't take long to see results with my hair, skin and nails.
It states on the bottle how much to take.

Respectfully ~

My hair WAS growing over an inch a month BEFORE the Biotin. At my 7 week appt we cut off 2.5 inches....the exact amount it had grown since last appt. My hair could be 6 inches longer by June.
