salon visits, I have my hair colored every 10-12 weeks( I try and stretch it out) But I do get those break through nasty gray hairs at my temples that's the only place. So this would not be for root touch up just the temple hair line coverage.. Thanks
For years I have been using Roux Tween Time Touch Up Hair Crayon, works like a charm.
I use the Fanciful shampoo out rinse. Just put some on a piece of cotton and dab it on dry hair over the gray roots, and they are gone until the next shampoo. Also good for hiding streaks that you put in that are too bright or prominent using something like Couleur Experte, until you can recolor all ove, next touchup.
I just used Clairol's root touch up for the first time yesterday (came highly recommended here). I'm not a nervous nellie about my hair, ever, but I was nervous about this stuff!
It turned out GREAT!!!
I color my hair every 10-12 weeks (no greys, I just get bored) and I definitely use this Clairol touch up from now on! :-)
A word to the wise ain't necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice.
Hi Irish Mama!
The salon i go to has what looks silimar to mascara tubes w/that type of brush - you can see inside the tube is color touch up "substance"...LOL...I don't know what else to call it. There's a wide variety of shades of course, and I forgot the name of the product...Well I guess I wasn't too much help...plus, i haven't had to use it yes...
Fanciful is good but even better is the spray on hair color at Sally's. I use the Burnt Brown in between coloring my hair dark auburn. What a find.
Maybe your stylist could give you small bottles of the developer and toner she/he uses on your hair and a little brush. Then, when you need a quick touch up, you could mix a little, brush it in, let it process and rinse and condition. Perfect match and coverage until your next appointment. :-D

Trying to think of something to put here. :)
I have lots of greys and stretching my visits by using the Clariol "Root Touchup" It works great!!!
For really quick touch-ups, I use Joan Rivers' Great Hair Day. It works great for those little touch-ups that you see when you look in the mirror and think, I could use a little something right here. It's a powder and comes with a brush and you just brush it on and it washes out. For more noticeable roots for the part-line of my hair, I use the Clairol's Root Touch-Up. This works great. This has really saved me money so I can prolong my usual salon coloring visits.
Another vote for Clairol Root Touchup.
Where do you find the Roux Tween TUCrayon...?? And how do the colors run. ....true to shades or what ?
I may be interested in trying that:-D

I usually get Roux Tween Time Crayon at Sally's or other beauty stores. Also available at many on line sites, and always plenty of them on ebay. Shades may run just slightly dark, I color my hair Dark
Auburn and I can use either Light Brown or Auburn. Very inexpensive, and one crayon lasts forever. Stays in until you wash it out.
I use the Clairol root touch up and also Bumble and Bumble make a spray on product call hair powder that is great. The Bumble and Bumble washes out but it is great for an emergency
Is the Clairol Root Touchup a one time use kit? I have the same problem with grays at my temples. I hate to pay for a whole bottle of root touchup when I only need to cover a few stray grays. Thanks.

Clairol Root Touch up for me too! The last time I used it, I mixed half of it and saved the rest (still in tube and plastic container) and will use it next time - hope it works!
My sister uses Just for Men Mustache and Beard dye as a touchup until she has time to do a complete coloring.
Works really well and doesn't wash out.
