I've only used dish soap. Is there something better? Can you recommend a brand? Dish soap is definitely cheap, and handy... I wonder if there is any down-side to using dish soap on your makeup brushes...?

I use whatever liquid hand soap is in my bathroom or kitchen counter. No problems with that.

I use Purity Made Simple. A dab of this Philosophy gem gets brushes squeaky clean.

I either use a little of my face cleanser of my liquid hand soap.

I think some shampoo might be a better choice, just be sure you don't saturate the brush down into the ferrule (the metal part that holds the hair) otherwise you run the risk of the hairs coming out.
I use facial wipes once a week then I don't need a major clean that often

Baby shampoo or Purity (which I don't use on my face.)
