Hi guys, another month about to start. Pumpkins, fleece jackets, hot beverages, some of the better things to come.

Come stop by and chat, let's make this a happy, lively thread!

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

can you believe it is October already, I sure can't. This means winter won't be far behind.

Desi, sure hope you can get an appointment with an ortho doc soon. Don't like that tingly in the hands stuff, doesn't sound right as well as a bulging disk. Sure hope they can do something to ease pain and take care of problems. Sure hope we all have a better winter than we did a summer that's for sure.

Karmuda, I too don't go to the malls other than the smaller strip malls but unfortunately the only Penny's we have is in the large mall which I never go to. I get to Target, Kohl's, Bon Ton and Boscov as far as dept. stores go, oh, Marshalls is close by and in a small strip mall as is Ulta otherwise, am out of luck for dept. stores. I have a problem with scents lasting on me past 30 minutes so if you say it doesn't last, won't even try it. I have good luck with PSS version of Beautiful as well as ET white diamonds so for now sticking with the 2 of those.

The article on Castle in last weeks TV guide(ending Sept, 28) sure didn't sound promising but if he wants more money that is the thing, contract is up this season and who can replace a star with the same name as the series.

I also read that Charlie Sheen would like to be in the last episode of Two and a Half Men, wonder if anything will come of that since he really ticked the the producers and creator off. I can't see that happening but who knows what they would do for ratings.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Hi Doglover! It's pouring here, way to start October, sigh.

I did just get an appt. in a couple weeks. Had to pick either hand or back specialist which is dumb. Told her the hands are due to the back, so I picked back. Wonder if this means if I want other parts checked I have to find a separate specialist, geez! I hurt most of my body, can't one of them check all the parts?

I guess they could try to replace Castle but I don't think I have ever seen the main star in a show replaced, only supporting actors. As far as Sheen goes, if he mended fences it might be a nice way to end the show. Unless they do one of those dream sequences and it turns out he never died and Eldon never bought the place, etc. Which I could see since I really thought getting him killed by a train didn't seem real, I expected him to reappear for weeks.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Desi, could do that or like CSI where the one guy kept seeing the guy that was shot, like a ghost thing, will have to wait and see I guess since that is all CS idea only so far. He could have amnesia and has been somewhere as someone else I guess too, will see what happens. Yes, with Two in a Half Men all 3 names were there as the stars but with Castle, that is him and who could be Castle? I hope this isn't all about more money but sort of sounds that way.

I watched a rerun of Jurassic Park 111 last night( had it recorded) made in 2001 and one of the stars was Tea Leonia, Madam Secretary. She had really really short hair, exactly like the youngest daughter has on Blue Bloods but otherwise looked the same.

I really don't understand some doctors, know everything is related to the accident and why can't one take care of everything, same here with DH, going through the same thing now, so many doctors. Everyone today is a specialist. What happened to the good old fashion doctor that took care of everything. He sent you for tests than took care of almost everything and if not sent you to someone who could but nothing like today.
Better rain than snow. We had a little rain yesterday, very very little and really could use it.

don't forget the Revlon Color silk on sale 2 for $6 at CVS this week and do if you get a chance try the new CG with Olay foundation in a jar, good deal since you get $5 for your next visit to spend as well as $5 o;ff your cosmetic order of $15 so, good time to try especially since you can return it or anything you try. They also have BOGO 1/2 off of CG and I do want to try the matching under eye concealer that goes with this, suppose to be very nice. You get the BOGO 1/2 on all CG foundations, concealers, lips, blush and powder. Does say not face lift products so don't know if that includes this new foundation BUT it does say you will get $5 in rewards off on your receipt to use the next time you shop at CVS PLUS swipe you members card there(that red machine they have) and you will also get $5 off any cosmetic purchases of $15 or more. That is with this new foundation, shows the picture and says about this deal with it. A good time to try something.

Doglover, will see how they end the show, didn't even know it was the last season. They survived without Alan's son so I guess they can weather anything. Not sure if Castle will follow that path, probably much easier with a comedy.

Getting 3 to 6 inches of rain here. They say we need it but that doesn't make it fun. Took my walk in the rain!

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Hi all.

Desi: Have you considered making an appointment with a neurologist or neurosurgeon. Since you know you have a bulging disc, I would go with the neurosurgeon. Going to see one doesn't mean you need surgery, but the neurosurgeon will be experienced in all levels of nerve issues.

doglover: Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the info on Castle. Hope they don't wait til the end of the season to discuss a new contract. If they renegotiate now and it isn't successful, they can possibly end the series in a thoughtful manner. If they wait until later, we could be left with who knows what.

Pepe had his annual visit with his derm. He got a "he looks great" and lots of treats. He's having issues with his hind end sagging, so he wasn't his perky self at the appt.

Stopped in at Sephora in JCP briefly. DH was with me, so that meant I couldn't look around. Sprayed 3 scents on the sniffie strips.

1. Calvin Klein's Reveal. Smelled great on the strip. DH said "its OK"

2. Jimmy Choo (original) Smelled great on the strip. DH liked it.

3. Jimmy Choo Flash. Smelled OK on the strip. DH said "meh".

Opted to spray 1 and 2 on opposite wrists.

1. Reveal morphed into a dirty full ash tray that needed dumped and washed. OMG nasty.

2. Jimmy Choo was just OK for me. More of a summer scent.

We went into WalMart after. Nothing exciting, other than 2 different police departments with 2 officers each picking through Mums as they had an under 21 yr old looking girl sitting on the sidewalk. We don't know if it was some sort of drug bust or who knows what.

We had rain yesterday. Don't know how much came down, but I do know we needed it. Grass has slowed down growth wise and its a bit dusty outside.

Re: October Scents and Common Sense - Welcome!

Pepe's mom, you got DH into an Ulta? You are doing good, mine won't set foot in there. It's a good thing you got to test before buying those scents. I often feel the same way, saves on returns.

Thanks for the advice, wish you'd been on sooner. Made an appt. with the ortho group where most work. I had asked when I called my Doc.'s office yesterday, neuro or ortho? They called today and suggested ortho. so that's what I did. Not sure if there is a neuro here but guess I could see one as well.

Hope Pepe gets his back half strength back. Not sure what can be done for that either.

Well, Wal-Mart is filled with interesting people. Maybe you'll find out what was going on at some point.

We were a bit dry too but not this week. It will rain 5 out of 7 days!
