The representative always refers to her products are developed with the help of plastic surgeons. Plastic surgeons cut the face and that is their expertise. it is my opinion that the line would be much more credible if she consulted with dermatologists who have actual knowledge of skin care.

yeah, just a gimmick. nothing more, nothing less. Plastic surgeons don't know about makeup, that is not their specialty, and most don't know anything about good skincare (except those that deal with burns, etc) so I'm not sure why that would be something that would attract anyone to the line but it must or she wouldn't keep touting it as such.

I would think that Plastic Surgeons should have some knowledge into at least what cosmetics are the most gentle for someone to wear following a cosmetic procedure. I think, in general, they recommend mineral-based. Also, a lot of cosmetic surgeons are involved in less invasive procedures like laser resurfacing. In that case, he/she should be aware of what products are ok to wear after such a procedure.

I had a plastic surgeon when I had face skin cancer. Thank goodness because I was cut from my ear to my chin. You don't even notice my scar unless you are really looking.
And yes, he knows about make-up and skincare.

Plastic surgeons specialize in certain areas. I would not say that skincare is their expertize but those that deal with scars and such do know something about the correct type of product to help treat those problems.
I do agree that a dermatologist has more training in the treatment of skin issues. They study the skin and the effects of topical treatments much more than a surgeon.

Many plastic surgeons that I know have been dermatologists or get a degree in Dermatology for knowledge early on and credibility concerning skin and skin issues. It makes perfect sense to me. I don't even know why that is questionable ? Can't believe the person that said "Plastic Surgeons don't know about make up"...HA, they know ALL about skin health, skin care, beauty, cleansing, what make up does and doesn't do to skin, the aging process, etc. When I was very young in my profession, I worked for two dermatologists before continuing my education in medicine.
Therefore, I find it extremely beneficial and credible that Jamie, being the professional that she is, would use plastic surgeons in the making of her IT line. It makes perfect sense to me, I would do it myself if I were in her position. Naturally, I would only use surgeons that were Dermatologists, requiring that as a necessary benefit. Why consult both when you can get two in one ?
P.S. One of the two Derms that employed me was a well-known female, and then had a line of skin care products that is today very well-known and loved all around the world, and very respected.
