VIP easypay on request....

Started 1383333589.377 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1383973998.54 by Retired08

Hi ladies,

I received the VIP for ez pay on item of $50 to be billed in 5 installments, however, I wanted to get a coat that cost $49.75 with 9.00 shipping charge,,,QVC wont honor the easy pay at a 25 cent difference, even though the shipping charge brings it well over the amount. Does anyone think this is a dumb move on their part...Im curious,,as I would have made that purchase,,,now I wont. Thanks for your replies.

Well, it's a computer system. $49.75 isn't $50 - it can't say well, geez, it's only $.25 difference let me give it to her. It's nothing to take personally. Maybe call them and see if they will honor it I am sure a human can make exceptions.

I would call them. I am sure they would rather make the sale then not.

They have to draw the line somewhere and they drew it at $50. In the end, you still pay the same amount. If you can't afford $49.75 now, save up until you can.

Their offer, their rules.

Nope, they would rather not make the sale. I tried that last time I had gotten that VIP that you had to use by Oct 15. I wanted something and it was 49.95. They wouldn't do it. It "has" to be 50.00 or over. And I called twice to customer service to see if i'd get a difference answer at all! Same answer both times.

I didn't use the easy pays. Now, I just received them again (surprise!) and still have the same things on my wish list and they are all under 50! I wonder why they make it like that? And it seems like they make a lot of items right under that 50 mark!

Oh well.

The smart customer service move if you called would have been for them to allow it "one time" as a "courtesy." Most good stores would do this.

No I don't think it's stupid. The offer specifically says $50.00 purchase price, not including the s/h. As someone else said, they have to draw the line.

Otherwise, someone will argue that they spend $47.00 so should get the easypay, then $45.00 and it will continue.

I'm not really sure why people think rules shouldn't apply to them?

In a word - yes... But their store, their rules...

They have to draw the line someplace. No matter what the limit is, someone somewhere will miss out by being $1 under. (This happens at work sometimes. We check on client's incomes. If they are even $1 over the limit, they have to pay. Otherwise, it is free. We gotta draw the line someplace too.)

Pro-aging.

Oh, good grief. It clearly says a $50 dollar item; so, that means $50. $49.75 is not $50. What's so hard to understand about that?

I DID call them,,they said no. Thats when I put up this post. I was surprised they didnt want to make the sale,,as on my limited, strict budget,,easy pay is sometimes the only way I can get stuff that isnt truly necessary..

well, where would they draw the line? If everyone who is short just a $1, or .75 cents or only a $1.50, etc... pretty soon those with a $40 order would complain too, etc. It could go on and on if they make an exception for one. I know it seems silly but them are the the rules. $49.95 isn't $50, nor is $49.25. Yeah, it seems lame they wouldn't honor it but what are you gonna do? Just don't buy it.

You're right Happydaze,,and it's all true. I wish I hadn't even posted this..I only wanted to see what others thought but didn't expect them to be so b***y..kinda blew me away. There are always the ones who want you to be empathetic to them when they post,,but turn around and be nasty to others.

A couple years ago I was at the mall. Wandered into a store and found something cute. They were having one of those discounts if you spend X. I was a nickel under and she would not consider it. Suggested I pick up another small item to push me over. I wasn't about to do that. Hung the item back up, wished her a good day and left. They have their limit and stick to it. Didn't bother me to leave it behind. I also can imagine them allowing someone to cut that corner and then have that person get on the boards and announce that the $50 limit is a slippery number.

Really bad subject for me. Of course the Q is making a big mistake. The only one that benefits is the Q, it prompts people to spend and buy more than they normally would. They used to send two VIP ez pays for your birthday and I was told they don't do that anymore. I called because I saw many talking about getting their VIP ez pays because I thought mine had been lost in. The mail. I was told by a very snarky (probably holiday help) customer service person. That I wouldn't be getting one. If you knew how much I spent on the Q in the past year you would be PO'd too. It's the point now and I will be doing no holiday shopping with them this year and I've greatly cut back on all my ordering.

you know, I was just thinking, this happens alot to me with the minimum amount for free shipping on many sites, like Sephora. There will be only two items I want and I swear it usually comes up as $49 and some change. Every time!! Back in the day, Sephora's website (and a few others, like beauty.com and even Josie's site) still gave me the shipping if I was within a $1 of the minimum but not anymore. It really must be $50 (in Sephora's case) or more to get the free shipping! There is many times I don't end up ordering until there is something else I need because even though I know I could add something small for only $5 or so, there is never anything I need so I don't want to buy anything just to get the free shipping and I don't want to pay the $5 or more dollars for shipping.

I agree with some of the others. This is Q's offer and their rules. It's a shame you can't use it for the item you mentioned but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Peace
