Joisie - argan oil question (around eyes)

Started 1380996385.57 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1388828803.11 by chalmers philpott

I'm sure it's the colder weather but the skin around my eyes have been dryer, I have a little argan oil on hand and thought about trying it - is it okay around the eyes?
Never tried it on my face since I am very breakout prone and to scared to use it. I use it in my body lotion and in my hair for fly aways if needed.

I use it every day around the eyes...I think it is great. I also like Kiehl's avocado eye cream...

I use Josie's argan oil on my face all of the time...no breakouts...

I love this all over my face and neck. Since I've been using it I've noticed that my eye lashes are longer and stronger. I just received the large bottle and so glad the Q offered this.

Also noticed that the lines on my forehead and neck have disappeared.

Use in the morning and at night after cleaning my face. My makeup goes on so much better.

oh good, I think I'll give it a try around my eyes, still scared to try on face, maybe I'll start on chest and neck and see how I do there and move on up but not till I'm back from vacation!!

Last year I actually called customer service at Josie's about placing argan oil on my eyelashes and I was told it is okay to do. I place a tiny amount on my fingertip and close my eye and rub across the upper lashes. I always use different oils under my eyes on the skin and have had no problem with either one.

Oh, Sandgirl, you are missing out if you haven't used it on your face! That, IMO, is the best part!! I think you will be so pleased about what it does.

I am very breakout prone too. I usually try things on my upper back and chest first-if I get bacne, I will surely get facne. I haven't tried argan oil yet, but I know I can use maracuja oil on my face.

I have very sensitive skin. I was really scared about using an oil on my face. But it actually helped me. Yeah, don't change anything before vacation! I do hope you have great time!

I saved an old mascara brush, washed it out really good and I put a little of Josie's Argan Oil on the brush and put it on my eyelashes just before going to bed! It has really helped them!

Argan oil is my primary eye treatment. If you're working your hands up from the neck the oil won't get into your eyes. Even when I use Ole Henriksen's Eye Firming Gel, it goes on after I've done my neck to forehead argan oil application thing.

Not all of the hot new oils are created equal, but oily acne/prone skintypes please don't be afraid of Josie's Argan Oil. I have that skintype and my skin has never felt so balanced, and free from oil breaking through my makeup, breakouts, and the unclean feeling when we secrete extra oil. A lot of us with oily skin create our problems because we use products claiming to be good for our skintype, and those products end up dehydrating our face which causes the oil glands to go into overdrive.

I have very sensitive eyes and use her Argan oil all around my eyes with no problems at all. Love it.

Not to be a wet blanket but it did break me out. I tried it on two different occasions with the same result, cleared up when I stopped. You might want to add it gradually to your routine just to see. I love Josie' s products and use the oil from kits for other areas, eg hands.

Ye need not think alike to love alike.

Sandgirl - you didn't ask, but I wanted to let you know what I use that really helps around the eye area for dryness - Clinique All About Eyes RICH moisturizer. There are a few versions, but the RICH is the one that I use and highly recommend. Especially if you are a bit sensitive around the eyes, this one is perfect.........good luck and hope you find either the Argon oil or something that works for you!

I started using Josie's sunscreen and it does not break my acne prone skin out at all. I also switch back and fourth with the Argan Oil regular and light versions and have no breakout and skin feels soo soft. I was also wondering about using it around the eyes, I will have to try this.

I wouldn't use the sunscreen one around the eyes, but the argan oil works well for me...Josie's moisturizer with sunscreen has a weird smell to it...

Danae24, yeah I meant the Argan oil around the eyes not the sunscreen LOL. I don't think the sunscreen has a weird smell to it, maybe you have a bad bottle? I have been really pleased with all the Josie products that I have tried.

Thanks Lexy, I will check that out, Clinique is usually good about samples as well!

I'd be careful - I breakout even looking at something that is "rich".

No breakouts here. I was surprised I even tried out since a few things have broken me out.

I always use it around the eyes. I've even sweated and gotten it in my eyes. No problems, it didn't sting or anything and the whites of my eyes looked whiter. Weird but true. Argan is truly a gift from Mother nature.

I am also VERY breakout prone. I can't use anything too oily or heavy on my face. Can't use anything with dimethicone, silicone, etc., either. I have no problems using argan oil around my eyes. I also use it on my neck. I have tried it on my face and I did break out.

I have had cystic acne along my jaw line on one side for a long time. The only thing that made a difference was when I started wearing Bare Minerals. Great improvement but not totally gone. When I started using Josie Maran's Argan Oil, it cleared the acne up. I use JM's Argan Oil all over my face (except my eye lids) and neck and love it.
