Jordana's New Shadow Sticks -- super amazing!

Started 1377881876.997 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1378338017.443 by corita

I recently got all 8 shades of the Jordana 12HR Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencils. There are 4 matte shades and 4 shimmer/metallic shades in the collection. They retail for $3.99 each

They are so amazing; great pigmentation and super stay-put. I know the shade Continuous Almond makes a great shadow base (they all do) and they can used as liners too.

You can check out my full review and swatches on my blog, linked below, but I included some pics here too.

Ooooooooo! Thanks for sharing! Of course I don't NEEEEED any new eye shadows BUUUUUUT I will take a look at these! P.S. I've only seen Jordana at Walgreens. Is that where you bought yours? Last edited on 8/30/2013

I bet they are great! And I'd get them if I needed them or if I used eye shadow sticks or creams.

I've got tons of mineral shadows that I have to/get to use/must use. But Jordana is my go to brand for eyeliner pencils so I do know the quality and value. Their lip liners are just as good if you find the color you need. They don't have my perfect lip liner shade unfortunately. The price is much better than Presitige which is my HG (when I can find it).

That almond and also the brown looks like the perfect neutral for me and probably for many of us.

p.s. - I find Jordana at CVS/Longs.

These look great. Our Walgreens has such a small selection of Jordana, I hope they get these in. Have you tried the Continuous Almond as a shadow base? I love my Trish McEvoy, but sure would like to find something cheaper! I usually don't even use shadow over it, just the wash of light pink from the base and a little liner and mascara. It would be great if it works for that.

Wow, these look awesome! Thanks for letting us know! I'm not a fan of the mascara like a lot of ladies, but that won't stop me from trying these!!!!

Thank you for posting this! I got the Continuous Almond today, tried that on one eyelid, Trish McEvoy base on the other. The TM is slightly pinker, but the wear/look was the same after 6 hours! My only complaint is that I wish this was a twist-up pencil, but for the price and quality I'm not complaining.

Btw, your blog is beautiful. What kind of light set up do you use for your photos? They're great and the blog is very informative. So glad you posted it, it's great!

You bring up a good point here, 4doggies. How are these sharpened? Does Jordana sell a special size sharpener or would a generic one work do you think?

These look nice. I have a couple nyx shadow sticks and they are great when your in a hurry and want a wash of color on your eyelids or a great shadow base.

SweetieBear, I'm not sure. I have a very large sharpener that I've had forever and it fits in there. I think you just have to find a sharpener for 'chubby' pencils. I didn't see any on the Jordana display, but I think they're available.

My rimmel one is chubby like this and I have a loreal dual sharpener that has a chubby end d. But I dont think my nyx one can be sharpened and I havent noticed if they turn up from the bottom.

Thanks 4doggies and ccassaday. I've got a dual sharpener that maybe the fat side would be big enough.

Too bad they aren't twist up. They use to make them twist up like Tarte & Bobbi Brown, then they discontinued them. I still have a couple left in this gorgeous taupe shade called iced coffee.

Always end the day with a positive thought. No matter how hard things were, tomorrow's a fresh opportunity to make it better.

Great, thanks! I do love Jordana mascara.

Jordana just came out with two new mascaras; I have both of them too and I like to layer them together - which gives the best BAM! effect. I'll be posting about all the new Jordana products on my blog over the next 2 weeks!

Jordana is a hard one to find! Not all the Walgreens around me carry Jordana, but my Kmart does. You can also order on their website.

Yes, I've been testing the Continuous Almond as a shadow base and find I like it, but don't see a huge difference between using that or my shadow primer, other than the Continuous Almond gives a more neutral/lighter base so my shadow colors pop more.

Jordana just came out with two new mascaras and while they are both okay on their own (no real complaints about them), I prefer to layer them together for a mega-lash look. I have before & after pics I'll be putting up on my blog I believe later this week or early next.

I wish it was a twist-up too, but like you said, for the price it's pretty good!

And thank you about the nice blog comment! :) I use my photo studio lights from when I had my photo studio. Just a simple 3-lighting set-up (sometimes I only use two lights).

I just use the big side of my sharpeners and it works.

Gosh, thanks for all the swatches, colors, descriptions, etc. I'm going to Walgreens tomorrow and I hope they have them. I've always liked their mascara. It's always nice to see them up close because otherwise it's hard to tell the exact color. I know I'll get the almond one and the pink one because I really need highlighter shadow colors. Thanks so much again. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Just put in an online order at Walgreens but they didn't have the eye chubbies you showed. Are they really new? If you got them, what store did you buy them at? Thanks.

What about animal testing...didn't say on their web page, so I assume it means yes. But I emailed them anyway...such gorgeous colors. Would love to try...
