Hi! I am a 34 yo female who has signaficant hair loss as a result of a surgery (stents) 2 months ago. My dermatologist has recommended minoxidal 5% every day for a year! I am wondering if this generic version of Rogaine has helped any other females out there. Thanks!

Yes! My derm said to get the men's version. It might take about 3 months to see results. I use it at night on my scalp. My hairdresser could tell my hair was thicker before I could.Last edited on 6/29/2013

You'll never have significance in this life if it's all about you.

Not sure about whether is grows hair back, but Kirkland (generic) via Amazon has the cheapest price.

I am worried about the solution rubbing off on my pillow and causing unwanted facial hair. Has that happened? Also...do you apply it to dry hair? Does it make hair look greasy? And does it burn?

I would also taking a high dose of Biotin daily, at least 5000 mcg and a supplement such as Viviscal or Biosil.

It goes on your scalp, not your hair. Hair can be wet or dry. It does not burn. It does not cause facial hair in the sense of a mustache or beard.

So, out of curiosity, I looked this up on Costco's website - lots of warnings and cautions listed. It specifically states that it's for men only and that women should not use it. Why not?

How many times per day do you ladies use the minoxodil? I know the package says twice a day, but I'm using the mens version, which is stronger than the womens, so would once a day work?

Thank you!
