Warning about IT tightline mascara for those

Started 1370483124.123 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1370618246.513 by sharonlovescats

who have thinning lashes...my lashes have always seemed to be enough; especially with the help of mascara. I bought the new IT tightline mascara and loved it....I could make my lashes just perfect and my eyes pop....difficult to remove, kept using tho because I liked the result...one morning I looked and had a GAP in one of my top eyelashes....I HAVE NEVER HAD A GAP BEFORE....went back to the reviews of this product and started with the bad ones and I was NOT the only one....just be careful ladies...lashes are precious and I do not intend to add false lashes (individual or othewise) to my beauty regimen anytime soon!!! I returned the product just under the wire for my $ back. Hope this helps someone!!!

Thanks for the info. I bought the IT tightline and just havent been able to get the results that I see on TV. I dont know if it is my technique or what. I have also found that it is difficult to remove. The last thing I need is gaps in my lashline{#emotions_dlg.scared}

Don't know if this will help you out Sabear, but I use neutrogena eye makeup remover. I seriously wet a remover pad and press it against my closed eye and keep it there for a few minutes. The coolness feels great and it really soften my tightline and it then comes off with just a few swipes of the pad.

Enjoying my retirement 1 cup of coffee at a time.

NOT invisible anymore, so get over it! I'm not gonna disappear :)

Are you referring to A231987 the It Cosmetics TIGHTLINE Full Lash Line Black Mascara Primer everyone was raving about? I have it on my wishlist and if indeed that is the product you are referring to then I will take it off as I have few enough lashes as it is.

Use Bobbi Brown long wear eye pencil instead! Slightly lift your upper lid and line the underside of the lash line. Let it set for a minute and it will last all day! LOVE this eyeliner!

How nice of you to post this. If it happened to other women, there is definitely a problem. Bobbi Brown has some great mascaras and so does Stila and Maybelline. Sorry that happened to you but appreciate your post.

Sent mine back yesterday after reading similar concerns here and in reviews! Thanks!

In January I noticed that I had a gap in my right lashes. Do not know what caused it. Started using SmartLash from Dermstore and my lashes look great now. It took about 3 mos before the gap disappeared.

Glad I saw this thread. I thought it was me... just another product that didn't work. My eyelashes fell out leaving "gaps" . At first I thought it was that tube kind of mascara that coats the lashes and slides off. Not the case... sent this right back!!!!

I never read the reviews so I missed that people were having issues with the iT Tightliner. I actually love it and have had no problems wearing it daily as my mascara since the TSV came out. I hope that those of you who have lost lashes get them back quickly!

I also use the Neutrogena eye makeup remover with this mascara with no problems. I tried using my facial makeup remover (like liquid soap) and it didn't work very well. Try using a remover with some type of oil in it. I love the IT tightline; it covers every lash with no clumps. I just use it alone unless I am going out, then add the regular mascara over it for a fuller look.

IMO this is an imitation of one of BE's mascara wands they had or still have. Nothing new from this copycat mascara.

I detested that product. It did absolutely NOTHING for me. I returned it.

Always use a separate eye make remover for your eyes.

It's the only way to save your lashes. I use a duo-phase type and a regular one for non waterproof - I enjoy trying using different brands but always use a separate remover!! apply the cotton and let it sit to dissolve...this is what one is supped to do with removing eyeliner or mascara.

I liked this neat product. cool idea and maybe it's best it stays on and harder to get off due to being close to the lash and waterline.

Sorry you had this experience.

Scary. I must admit, I am liking it. It reminds me of the Clinique Bottom Lashes mascara. I don't remember a BE mascara with a wand like this, as the other poster mentioned. I do like the BE mascara---I think the less frilly the wands are the better job the mascara does. Mally's makes a mess on me.

Well, I guess time will tell---gulp---I don't have lashes to lose...

I use coconut oil on my lashes to remove this great product. Works like a charm. Soap works too.

I started noticing my lashes thinning and found Rimmel has a drug store lash accelerator serum. I've been using it for a couple of months now and my lashes have gotten thicker. I only use it at night after I wash my face and I have noticed I loose fewer lashes (if any) when I remove my eyemakeup too. Maybe this would help to reverse your lash loss.

holy cow it works and by Rimmel .. it must be such a great low price (compared to my other ones) thanks for heads up! who knows, just b/c a company sells one for 45 or one for 90 and higher it may have the same base ingredients?

I think it's worth a try ;) it worked for you and no $ loss

I won't buy IT cosmetics. All of their products are made in China. Who knows what's in them!
